Feel free to post any requests for episodes that are not in our video database yet.
Don't know if we have the episode? Check out our Full Episode List on the main page. If the episode number is bold, it is already uploaded. If it is in blue, then we have it but have not uploaded yet. If it is in plain white, we do not have it.
Don't know exactly which episode it is? Give any details you can such as information about the challenger, special guests or judges, etc. There is a knowledgable group here that can probably help you figure out which episode it was.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to track down a copy of the Japan Cup that aired early in 2002. (Food Network did not air that special, and we have not been able to find a copy of the Japanese version.)
We do have the 21st Century Special. I don't know if we already have a theme picked for next week's Episodes of the Week or not. If we do not put it up next week, then it definitely will be up the week after that.

Greetings once again! May I ask which episode has Chen Kenichi flipping what seems to be a really huge omelet on his wok? There's a little clip of it on the intro where he drops all the way to the ground to complete this "kung-fu" move.
I would like to request this episode please if it's not already in the database. Many thanks!

Two requests: 1. The Peach battle from 1998 with Sakai v. Watabe -- I'm pretty sure this was dubbed into English, but I could be wrong. 2. The Chinese Cabbage battle from 1999, Chen v. Yufen. [actually there are 6 or 7 others I'm looking for, but I don't want to be annoying. ]

Well, naturally I would like all that are not currently available However, a few rank higher on my list than others... 1) Red Snapper (2-27-98) -- Morimoto's debut...this battle became quite rare after a while on Food Network 2) Broccoli (3-13-98) -- another rarer battle from the first wave of episodes that aired on Food Network 3) Liver (5-5-95) -- nothing special here, just one that I don't think I have seen I do notice that there are more 1995 battles available than any other year -- just curious, any particular reason? Thanks for hearing a noob (to this forum anyway) speak a bit.

Tuthead, I beg to differ - I'm quite sure I've seen the episode to which B2F42W referred... my problem is that I can't remember which battle it is.....I made notes on each battle I've seen, but that fact isn't in my notes on Chen's battles.

If memory serves me right...it was one of his 1996 battles.

I'd really like to see the Japan Cup and 21st Century Battles up for download. We added the 21st Century Special this week. We are still looking for the Japan Cup.

I should like to point out that the Japan Cup 2002 special is reportedly not that good...<SPOILERS BELOW> Kaga "dies" in this episode, a new chairman is present (supposedly his "nephew", I believe, and not the host of Iron Chef America) and the whole feel of the show is rushed and overdone. The show did not receive very high ratings in Japan, which is probably why they never continued the "Kaga nephew" storyline and why this is the last of the Iron Chef Japan run. I also hear that the Millenium Battle (2000) wasn't all that either -- they tried to introduce some "new" Iron Chefs but, as we can see in 21st Century Special, that never took hold and the idea was scrapped. So, long story short -- we are not missing out on too much here folks, though as completists I am sure we would all like to see the specials none the less

I don't know if you have spent much time looking at our Beyond Kitchen Stadium videos, but we have a clip of the "new" Iron Chefs being introduced.

Yes, they were introduced in the Millenium Special (which I believe is where that clip is from) in 2000, but in both the 21st Century Special and Japan Cup, they are not mentioned at all...which means the idea was scrapped, in all likelihood. I do not believe they even did battle in the Millenium Special (Chen and Michiba did).

I think that it was battle carrot. It was against a challenger he beat in the world championship in Chinese cooking in 2002. Chen got a silver medal while the challenger got a bronze. The challenger is Kiyoshi Takahashi. The dish contained shark fin, carrot, crab and flat fish dish.

I just dug out the disk with that episode on it. While Chen does have a flip of a yellow dish in that one, it isn't the same one that is in the intro. One, the flip in the battle is from a different angle than the intro. Two, the assistant in the picture is wearing all blue in the intro but blue+white in the battle. I think they are similar, but it is not the flip from the intro. I wonder if we should start a thread about the clips in the intro and what episodes they are from.
