In that battle one of the Iron Chef's assistants is wearing blue and white. The different angle could have been due to how the Food Network edited the episode. In the Original Episode section, the shows have different angles the Food Network doesn't show. I have compared some of those episodes and have seen the differences. But I could be wrong and it could be from an episode that never aired on the Food Network.

I just dug out the disk with that episode on it. While Chen does have a flip of a yellow dish in that one, it isn't the same one that is in the intro. One, the flip in the battle is from a different angle than the intro. Two, the assistant in the picture is wearing all blue in the intro but blue+white in the battle. I think they are similar, but it is not the flip from the intro. I wonder if we should start a thread about the clips in the intro and what episodes they are from. I swear it was one of the 1996 battles. Anyway, tuthead, that is a great idea (regarding a thread on the clips of the American FN opening montage).

I, too, think that is a great idea.

Two requests: 1. The Peach battle from 1998 with Sakai v. Watabe -- I'm pretty sure this was dubbed into English, but I could be wrong. 2. The Chinese Cabbage battle from 1999, Chen v. Yufen. [actually there are 6 or 7 others I'm looking for, but I don't want to be annoying. ] I have the peach battle on a video tape that needs to be moved to the computer. It will be coming eventually. The Chinese Cabbage battle is one of the few FN episodes I do not have. I may have to start a request thread of my own to ask for the episodes I don't have for the site.

I have a suggestion. It seems as though the majority of the episodes available presently are from the 1994 - 1996 era. There are relatively few 1999 battles available. May I suggest that more of the late-era battles be uploaded, to round-out the download availabilities? Just a thought

Feel free to post any requests for episodes that are not in our video database yet. I'll put in a vote for the "Porcini Battle" -- Morimoto vs Marco Molinari. It's just a stunning battle that baffles both the commentators ... and even Morimoto himself when he visits the challenger's side to see just what's going on! It's one of my faves ... I watch it over and over. And Yoko Akino is also my favorite judge ... she's not the usual "airhead" actress, makes insightful cooking observations -- and is darned good-looking to boot. A wonderful combination of challenger, judges, Iron Chef, and theme ingredient. A winner all-around.

Just a thought I think it was just a matter of us not exactly knowing how we were going to go about adding episodes for download. I know I just started with the oldest episodes I had when I started adding them to the database. Once we got closer to the actual opening of the site and realized that we would likely have a theme each week, we stopped randomly adding episodes.

I'd like to be the first to request that Iron Chef Collection uploads the newly edited ICJ episodes from Fine Living Network, at least for the first week. Those of us who don't have the channel would like to see how FLN has tweaked the show. Maybe it can be a special event for the site?

I'll just have to make sure we have the "original" FN episodes up for the ones that will be airing on FL that first week for comparison. I would imagine that the changes, if any, will be things like music and maybe a re-dubbed voice over here and there. I doubt they would sink any real resources into a show they have clearly not cared about for a couple of years.
