We've already hit the middle of October with absolutely no news about this series. I'm beginning to think that the premiere has been delayed beyond the original October time frame indicated by several articles when the show was announced.

There will be a 2 hour special on October 26th, starting at 7:00 PM in Japan. There is a page about it on the Fuji website. Unfortunately, the date and time are about the only information there. ironcheffans.info/wordpress/?p=1126

Yep. I'll be watching from 5:00AM-7:00AM that day, then getting ready to head to work. Also, there have been announcements regarding the new chairman and announcers. ironcheffans.info/wordpress/?p=1126

Great choice for the new chairman. Sano-san could be good as an announcer. However, one correction, tut. Yurika Mita doesn't sing. She is involved in a singing show called Idoling!(a female only rip-off of American Idol) as a presenter. EDIT: The New KS:

My mistake then. Regardless, I still have reservations for Fuji TV in choosing her as the second half of the commentary team. It all boils down to the show format I guess.

Holy cow, the new Kitchen Stadium is really impressive. Bravo to the design team for capturing the spirit of the original while updating it to be something new and different.
I'll wait to judge the new Chairman and commentary team until we see them in action. Here's hoping they nail the epic feel of the original by using a great music score and visual flair.

Does anybody have any leads as far as getting their hands on the new shows? I have been told by someone who has come through for me many times before that they can probably get a copy, but I'd love to have a back-up plan just in case.

Holy hell, Kitchen Stadium '12 looks gorgeous. You notice that there's room for four ICs on the dais? Looks like they're keeping it to four cuisines.

First battle challengers revealed. ironcheffans.info/wordpress/?p=1166Chen Kentaro (son of Iron Chef Chen Kenichi) and Kenichi Miyanaga (a former student of Michiba). I saw on Wikipedia that they will challenge Iron Chef Chen and Iron Chef Michiba, but I have not been able to confirm that anywhere else.

Fitting if it is true, tut. Michiba and Chen is two of the the beloved chefs from ICJ in the States, and having them present the first two challengers in the new series is fitting.
Though the thought of Yukio Hattori returning to ICJ is very pleasing.

Sounds like this is a passing of the torch, in a way.
It might go like this: Chen leads his son into Kitchen Stadium. They talk to his son, but they get a brief mention about Chen's run as an IC in the conversation. When it's time to pick an IC for battle, Chen would pass the torch to the new IC Chinese via his son. Same thing as Michiba and his former student, but you'd obviously sub Japanese in for Chinese.
I can't think of another scenario that would be as perfect as this.
