"Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are."

Fukui: "Nearly a decade ago, a man's fantasy became reality in a form never seen before: Kitchen Stadium, a giant cooking arena. The motivation for spending his fortune to create Kitchen Stadium was to encounter new, original cuisines that could be called true, artistic creations."
*cut to Kaga yelling 'Allez Cuisine'*
"To realize his dream, he secretly started choosing the top chefs of various styles of cooking. And he named his chefs the Iron Chefs: The invincible chefs of culinary skills. Iron Chef Japanese is Rokusaburo Michiba. Iron Chef French is Yutake Ishinabe. And Iron Chef Chinese is Chen Kenichi.
Kitchen Stadium is the arena where Iron Chefs await the challenges from master chefs from around the world. Both the Iron Chef and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, and creativity, they are to prepare artistic dishes never tasted before. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Stadium, where master chefs pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Chef fight back? The heat will be on!"
Kaga: If memory serves me right, I was recently contacted by a man who calls himself, “The Urban Peasant.” This man asked to do battle against one of my Iron Chefs. How could I refuse such an offer?
Allow me to introduce today’s challenger: A food expert hailing all the way from Canada- James Barber.
Mr. Barber’s résumé certainly does not read like that of a master chef. At one time or another in his life, he has been an engineer, a soldier, a sailor, a miner, a journalist and an actor. In fact, the closest career he ever had to that of professional chef was as a cook in a mining camp. However, it is this humble culinary experience that he says taught him the value of improvisation in cooking: making the best of whatever ingredients are available. It is this outlook on cooking that makes him the talented chef that he is.
His first book, Fear of Frying, earned him a name in the culinary world. That name was later solidified when he got his own television show, The Urban Peasant.
But why “Urban Peasant”? This is certainly not the name of a master chef. This unusual title is attributed to Chef Barber’s tendency to use simple techniques in the creation of his dishes. His culinary creations are simple to make, yet each is a masterpiece that pleases even the finest of gourmets.
So now, Chef Barber! Show us why you have earned the title “Urban Peasant,” and impress us with your simple, yet profound masterpieces- today, in my Kitchen Stadium!
Barber: I’m never tied down by conventional recipes. I’m always ready to explore new ingredients and use whatever I have at my disposal to my advantage. I think that just by doing what I always do in the kitchen… that I can win today’s match.
*Kaga steps into Kitchen Stadium. The camera pans around a large column, showing Kaga stepping up to center stage. The Chairman looks around at the many features and ingredients in Kitchen Stadium, and his eyes land on a yellow bell pepper in front of him. He picks it up, and takes a bite. Suddenly, a large smile spreads across his face, as the camera pulls back, revealing the once-empty Kitchen Stadium now full of Gourmet Academy chefs. Flames burst onto the screen, and in both Japanese and English characters appears the words: Iron Chef. The camera pans once more around the Kitchen Stadium, and the events are now ready to begin*
*Cut to a commercial break, and return to the announcer’s panel where Kenji Fukui, Doc Hattori, and Hikari Ishida begin the night’s events*
Fukui: Today, a chef who comes all the way from Canada is here in Kitchen Stadium to duke it out with one of the Iron Chefs, and get this: he calls himself the “Urban Peasant.” That certainly doesn’t sound very appetizing, but I’m sure his dishes are fantastic. *laughs* With me today is actress Hikari Ishida, nice to have you here- and with me as usual is Doc Hattori, welcome back Doc. Okay, let’s bring on Chairman Kaga! *claps*
*Kaga enters Kitchen Stadium*
Kaga: Today, a chef who calls himself the “Urban Peasant” is here to do battle with one of my mighty Iron Chefs. He is the star of a popular cooking television show where he’s from. Now, let’s bring him on! All the way from Canada- James Barber!
*Barber strolls confidently into Kitchen Stadium and walks up to Kaga*
Kaga: Nice to meet you. *Bows* Tell me… what brings you to Kitchen Stadium today?

I realized that both Achen and Arrianna signed up for parts with the announcers. Unfortunately, in the Ishinabe era, there were only three judges, and only one of them was with Fukui-san. Naturally, I chose the young actress, as that’s who most likely would have actually been with the announcers on the real show. Achen, if you wish, we can go to you frequently in the Royal Box. Both of you will be on the tasting panel, of course.
