Ishii Yoshiko:The type of ham used is a nice touch. Combining the two dishes was probably a good idea. Nice, very traditional, though not traditional Szechuan however.

Kurimoto: I agree this is a very good dish. But I'm still waiting for that heat that usually comes with some of your dishes. It seems like today your being very conservative in your dishes and is a bit lacking in your usual creativeness. Sorry about that.
------Post------- Might be away from here this weekend. So I'll try to post if I can. Sorry about that. ----End Post---------

Hirano: I have to agree with my fellow tasters. I am not finding the heat factor at all today. Other than that, though, this was a very good dish.

Chen: Sorry about that.
------Next dish-------
========= Last is Mixed Fruit Wontons, French Toast Style. Maple suryp was to be offered along side this dish, but Chen failed to get it out in time. Regardless, this dish is a plesent closer to the meal. =========
Chen: Pineapples are closely asscoiated with desserts, and so I rushed to make this effort. I Didn't have time to heat up some maple suryp to accompany this, but I feel that this is good enough to serve on it's own, so please enjoy.

Ishii Yoshiko: I think maple syrup would have ruined this. It is quite good. It would have been better if the filling had something more then fruit to bind it together. As it is they are like little fruit tarts. Nice.

Hirano: Mmm. What a great way to finish this meal off. This is very good. I don't think that the maple syrup would have been necessary at all. Well done.

Kaga: Excellent. What do you think, Kurimoto-san?

Kurimoto: This dish is good. The flavor is good on its own but the texture of the filling needs something. Maybe soft cheese of some kind? The powder sugar balances the tartness of the pineapple but the maple syrup would have added to many flavors to this dish causing a flavor war. Overall today the dishes by the iron chef were very conservative while the challenger's dishes were slightly neo-chinese. The two memorable dishes today were the hot and sour stir-fry pineapple and the sweet and sour lobster.

Fukui: For one chef, victory will be sweet. For the other, a sour defeat is on its way. The verdict, when we return.

JUDGMENT
*Kaga steps into Kitchen Stadium, followed by the judges*
Kaga: Tonight, Battle Pineapple was waged between a formidable challenger and my Iron Chef. The culinary prowess displayed was truly inspiring, and the dishes created were beautiful to look at, and even more delicious to eat. Both chefs did a fantastic job in doing justice to such a unique ingredient. But alas, there can be but one winner. And now, the verdict.
Fukui: Master Chef Chu and Iron Chef Chen battled it out tonight in the pineapple battle here in Kitchen Stadium. The judges were particularly harsh tonight, but one chef must emerge victorious. Who takes it? Whose cuisine reigns supreme?
Kaga: Challenger Chu Si-Hung!
Fukui: He did it! The challenger managed to beat the Iron Chef! Incredible! Let's take a look at the scores!
Yoshiko: Iron Chef- 14 Challenger- 17
Kurimoto: Iron Chef- 17 Challenger- 16
Hirano: Iron Chef- 16 Challenger- 19
Total: Iron Chef- 47 Challenger- 52
Fukui: And with a five point victory, the challenger takes home the "W" tonight!

*Chu walks over and shakes Chef Chen's hand, accompanied by Jia-Cheng and Sha-Shan (who's jumping up and down excitedly).
Chu (translated by Jia-Cheng): "Thank you for an excellent battle, Chen-san."
Sha-Shan: "Thank you, Mr. Teddy Bear!"

Chu (via translation): "I'm very pleased and happy to have won this battle, of course. My stepdaughter Sha-Shan says she'd like to come back to the Stadium some day for her own battle, so I promise to keep watching from Taipei and see how the Iron Chefs progress. Once again, I'd like to thank Chairman Kaga for inviting us."
