===post=== I've got no objections; I'm only halfway done in my artwork, and I could use the extra time. (how the heck do I do the Kitchen Stadium logo?) ===endpost===

Post ---------------------- The ten minute mark will sound tomorrow. Hopefully, both chefs will be prepared for their day's work by then. When you make your post tomorrow, chefs, say how much longer you want to postpone the next time call. ---------------------- End

Ohta: Wow! Fukui-san, I have been getting lucky today! Master Chu, this is delicious!

*Chu, satisfied with Ohta's response, picks up the freshly-cleaned wok handed to him by Sha-Shan.*
Chu: "Sha-Shan! Get a bowl of chilled water and put the jellyfish and noodles in it!"
Sha-Shan: "Hai, papa!"
*Chu moves to the wok station and heats up the wok with high heat. Jia-Cheng, standing by, dumps in the chopped duck meat, which Chu stirs and tosses for a minute. In two-minute intervals, the pineapple-infused rice and shredded lettuce are added. Chu stirs and tosses the rice rapidly, to mix the ingredients and fluff the rice.*
Jia-Cheng: "Should I ask, Papa?"
Chu: "Yes. You know what to look for. And after that, get the bowls and plates ready."
Jia-Cheng: "Hai."
*Jia-Cheng dips a Chinese soup spoon into the wok, then moves towards the plating station.*
Jia-Cheng: "Ohta-san! Over here!"
*Ohta approaches, and in response to Jia-Cheng's gesture puts the spoonful of rice into his mouth.*
Jia-Cheng: "Both the duck and the rice have been infused with pineapple juice, and the lettuce is meant to add contrast and texture. This style of rice doesn't use eggs because of the sourness of the pineapple. What do you think?"

*Chen sees the sauce thicken nicely and removes the tenderloin wok off the heat.*
Chen(to assistant): Get me some serving platters. Hurry up.
*The assistant runs off to get the platters as Chen starts preperations of his dessert.*
Chen(to assistant): See this? *points to the bowl of mixed fruit* I want you to put a cherry, a pear and some pineapple pieces on the wonton skin like this. *Chen puts the pieces in the middle of the skin* Close them up like this, *Chen closes them up so that the corners flare up* and put them in the oil immedeatly. Remember, when they are golden brown, pull them.
*Another assistant returns with platters*
Chen: Good, good. Now give the chicken wings another basting and cut a pineapple in half.
*The assistant runs off and does his task as Chen starts shaving off some ham.*

Fukui: Man alive, Ohta, is this your night or what? You've tasted more food than some of our judges will during the tasting!
10 MINUTES TO GO!
Fukui: And we're rounding out this battle with only ten minutes remaining. The action on both sides of Kitchen Stadium just got a little more frantic!
Post ----------------------- Gotcha, Sanji. The five minute mark won't sound until Friday afternoon. Until then, though, I expect the RPG to keep moving with action from the challenger and interplay between the announcers and Ohta. No need to completely stop the RPG. ------------------------ End

Hattori: Lucky man.
We should be seeing the plating now. It looks like I was right about the duck going with the rice, the lettuce in that dish will be a nice touch. I would say the chilled noodles and jellyfish is the salad course but I still don't see how pineapple will play a part in that.
Now on Chen's side we have a deep fried fruit wonton. It reminds me of the rangoon's you can get at some Chinese restaurants. Without something to absorb the juices from the cooked fruit they should be very juicy inside the crisp skin. We are also seeing a tenderloin and the basted chicken wings but I have no idea how he intends to serve them. How are you doing

Fukui: Beats me, Doc. By the looks of it, both sides of Kitchen Stadium are getting ready for plating. And that's understandable, as there's less then ten minutes left in the battle!

*As Chu continues to ladle the rice into their bowls, Sha-Shan has taken two bowls -- one with the jellyfish, one with the noodles, and both filled with ice-cold water -- and placed them on a work area beside a larger bowl and the pan with the pineapple jelly. She picks up the pan, slams it upside down with a bang, and unmolds the jelly. Using a fresh knife, she cuts the jelly into julienne slices, which she tosses into the large bowl along with the chilled noodles and jellyfish.
*Meanwhile, Jia-Cheng is cutting up some maraschino cherries and pineapple rings, arranging them on individual plates, three rings to a plate. Satisfied with their arrangement, she takes a bowl filled with slivers of jalapeno pepper, and brings it to Sha-Shan's area..*

Hattori: Well that answers my question about the pineapple being added to the chilled noodles and jellyfish. Nicely done. I have been wondering what Chef Chu intended to do with the pineapple jello he had made.

*Sha-Shan finishes tossing the noodles, jellyfish and julienned pineapple jelly along with the slivered jalapeno. She plates the mixture on top of the pineapple rings, and drizzles some sesame and mild olive oil (not extra-virgin) on top.
*Meanwhile, Chu has taken the chilled watermelon / pineapple broth out of the blast chiller and is decanting it into the hollowed watermelon bowl, which has been placed on a bed of shaved ice.*
Chu: "Jia-Cheng! Are your bowls ready?"
Jia-Cheng (looks at the bowls with the tofu dumplings): "Hai, papa! Remember that they get the broth at the table!"
Chu: "Fine, then we do have time to try one more. Get the blender and some glasses ready!"

Fukui: Did the challenger just say he was trying one more? Doc, does he have time for one more dish? We're approaching the five minute mark!

Kurimoto: Hattori-san is the challenger making an aperitif? If so what kind of alcohol would pair up nicely with the pineapple?

Hattori: I assume this close to the final minute that it would be a beverage of some kind. Since pineapple juice is used in over 500 combinations of mixers alone what the challenger will do is anyone guess. Fresh pineapple juice is preferred and it doesn't get much fresher then this. It could very well be an aperitif Kurimoto-san, there are many kinds of pineapple based wines used as such. I think we will just have to wait and see.

*Chen finishes shaving off the ham for the fried rice as the assistant finishes pulling the wontons from the hot oil. Getting a small amount, Chen fires up a hot wok. Adding the ham shavings, Chen then stir fries the ham.*
Chen(to assistant): pull the rice from the rice cooker.
*The assistant pulls the rice out of the cooker and dumps it on to the wok. Getting some eggs, Chen then cracks them over the rice and gives it some more stir fry treatment. Running to the platters, then then pours the fried rice into one.*
Chen(to assistant): get me some plates that match and some powdered sugar.
*The assistant runs off to do his task*
