I have a friend, David, who is a missionary on the island of Saipan. He works for FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company.) Now, Saipan is very close to Japan, and most products are from there or from China. Being my curious self, I asked David if I could sample some foods they eat on the island. Well, today I received a package containing many treats from Saiapn. On some the writing is in Japanese, so I can't tell you all what they all say...but I've got pictures!
Here is a "group shot" of all the goodies:
Here's a picture of "Presto Creams"- The are chocolate sandwich cookies, and are quite good. They are similar to a reversed Oreo cookie.
The next picture is of "Nong Shim" Shrimp Crackers.- They are...well disgusting! The shrimp taste is not so good on these things, and the smell is not good either.
Here's two pictures of an unknown cookie by the brand "Come on Baby!" It is a chocolate chip cookie, with a chocolate cream center, and is it delicious!
Here is the second picture of the cookie box, which has a few Japanese characters on it.
The next picture is of "Jack 'n Jill's" Piatto's Nacho Pizza Crisps- they are very good! It has a soy flavor, and there is no Trans fat in them, which is awesome.
Here is a photo of "Nagaraya" BBQ Cracker nuts. What is a cracker-nut, you ask? It has a cracker outside, and a peanut on the inside. The BBQ flavor is great too. I love these.
The next photo is of "Boy Bawany" Garlic Flavored Corn-nicks. (What is a corn-nick?!) This was the worst thing in the box. The aroma is horrible, and the garlic taste is SO STRONG! As soon as you open the bag the odor of the garlic becomes quite clear! They really are gross.
The last photo is of "Jack 'n Jill's" "Dynamite Choco-filled mint candy" I have had a candy like this before, just not this brand. These are very good! The mint and the chocolate are just great together.
I hope to get more stuff from David, and will be contacting him again soon. I also hope that one day, if the money is ever there, that I will travel to Saipan and experience it for myself. I encourage you to give money to FEBC, if you have it in you. Please don't feel pressured! www.febc.org
