Anyone here ever have a paranormal experience or scary "ghostly" encounter?
I have a story from when I was I was very young. My brother's room was directly across from mine, and he used to play his stereo very loudly at night. One night it was so loud that I kept yelling out to him "Turn off your stereo!", to which he would just tell me to be quiet. Eventually, he went down to our basement for a moment, I forget why, and he left his stereo on. To my surprise, the music just stopped for no apparent reason. I at the time didn't know he had been downstairs, and thought that he had turned it off himself. A few minutes later, he comes storming into my room, yelling at me for turning off his stereo. I hadn't left my bed, and apparently no one in my family touched the stereo. It had just turned itself off! It didn't really scare me, but it makes me wonder to this day what happened. It's as if the stereo heard me yelling at it to turn off.
The only other strange thing to ever happen to me happened a few months ago. Odd conversations would come out of my computer monitor (NOT the speakers, even if they were turned off). They sounded faint and secretive, and were very rushed. They stopped after a few weeks, but nevertheless creeped me out. I guess my computer just picked up a phone conversation from somewhere, but it was very odd at the time.
Anything strange ever happen to you guys?

When I was little, about six, my sister was seven and my mom was a single parent so we all shared one bedroom. My sister and I were taking a nap in the afternoon. The bedroom was dark as the shades were pulled down. Suddenly my sister starded to scream and she was pointing at the wall. I looked where she was pointing and saw a large white, ghostly figure on the wall. I screamed along with her as we watched the figure, until our mom came in and turned on the light. The figure disappeared but we tried to make her believe what we had seen. She never did of course. But the next day at naptime, we lifted up the shade so it wasn't so dark in the room and on the ground right under the window outside were two of those kids batons that you buy at the fair, red sticks with gold glitter ball on top and gold ribbons. My sister, Ginger, climbed out the window and got them for us but my mom heard the commotion and came into the bedroom. She made us put the batons back outside on the ground where they were, and she scolded us for playing during nap. Then she shut the window and pulled down the shade and stayed in the bedroom until we fell asleep. The next time we looked out the window for the batons, they were gone. But we think the ghost left them there for Ginger and me because he scared us so bad.

Those stories are both very freaky! I have one of my own:
I remember once, when I was around eight years old, going to my grandmother's home to spend the night. She lived in Tyler, TX so it was about a 2 hour drive just to get to her house. It was just me and my sister, Rosetta, who stayed over that night. I remember being in the spare room with her, waiting to get tucked into bed. What I saw next I will never, ever, forget. I saw this "thing" that looked like a robot. He had blue and red buttons all over him. He was not mechanical, though. He did not walk either....he floated above the ground. I just remember shaking, and not saying a word, just shaking. It was frighting. The creature then came close to my sister, who was crying and holding me. I swear he was going to pick her up!! I screamed as loud ad I could and held on to my baby sister for life. I can never remember being as scared as I was at that time. I would not come out of that cover for anything. About what felt like an hour later (it must have been only 2 or 3 minutes) I poked my head out and he was gone. I can still remember seeing him, and know exactly what he looked like. I was so shook up and it lasted for about a year. I would always have to sleep with the light on, and remember wetting my bed from the fear of seeing him again. Of course no one ever believed us...."we were just dreaming" and "had watched too much Twilight Zone" We knew we were not dreaming. Years later my sister and I were talking about what happened that night, and decided to draw what we remember him looking like. This is what really freaked me out....we drew the same thing!
This experience really shook me up, and I hope no one will ever go through anything like it.

Whoa, that's eerie. Did it seem like a definite object to you, or was it more of a ghost/spirit/entity. If you reached you, do you think you would have touched a solid object?
No matter how hard I think, I can't think of any sort of explanation for that. Weird. Thanks for the picture.

What are the opinions of those things people think they see on things like grilled cheese sandwiches, etc., that they put on e-bay and sell for thousands? I think it's really stretching the imagination. Would you buy anything like that? Not me.

No matter how hard I think, I can't think of any sort of explanation for that. Weird. Thanks for the picture. I hear stories like "I could see right thou it!" or "it looked like a ghost!"...but I could not see through it. It obviously was not human, but I could not see through it. I have the feeling he was very cold, and if I would have touched him, he would have been ice cold. I feel this way because when he glided above the floor, and came closer, I felt cold, like a cold presence. I don't know what it was, but when I looked at him, I remember feeling a cold, cold presence. What are the opinions of those things people think they see on things like grilled cheese sandwiches, etc., that they put on e-bay and sell for thousands? I think it's really stretching the imagination. Would you buy anything like that? Not me. I can just imagine some one with a piece of toast and a sharp knife.....carving away at a piece of toast. I don't buy that at all! I know spirits are real, and possibly aliens, because no one can tell me what I saw wasn't real, but a piece of toast...looking like Mother Theresa?! Some people have way to much time on their hands.

I agree. People who pay good money for a piece of toast are out of their mind.
Oh, and that's interesting, AC. I've never heard of any sort of phenomenon like that before.

When I was 9 years old, I remember waking up because I heard something in my closet. I thought the cat was stuck in there, so I turned on my light and opened the closet. There was nothing inside, so I figured it wasn't anything. By this time I was quite awake, so what happened next was truely frightening. Now, I am 9 years old.. quite pratically a man. I wasn't scared of nightmares or anything at this age, so I simply turned off the light and went back to bed.
Now just so you know, my room was in the basement, and I didn't have a lightswitch to switch the light, but rather a pull string that hung from the light in the middle of the room. My bed was against the back wall, so to pull the string from my bed I had to really reach out and wave my hand in the dark to feel the string.
Anway, back to my story. I turned off the light and then jumped back into bed. As soon as I got back in bed, I heard a growling/snarling noise. I remember frantically trying to find the string in the dark waving my hand trying to feel the kite string. I get shivers now 20 years later thinking about trying to find that string. I finally found it and pulled the string. The light only came on half-way... really dim and flickering... like maybe 10 watts out of a 75 watt bulb... There in the middle of my room was a wolf. It was as real as anything. It had it's ears back and was growling loudly. I remember trying to scream. I tried to scream so loud, but nothing would come out of my voice. I closed my eyes and just screamed, but again no voice. I was seriously freaking out. I must have tried to scream for help for several minutes, but no voice would come out. By this time I truely started freaking out, to the point of having a mental breakdown. I get tears in my eyes just remembering how scary this was. But suddenly, the wolf was just gone. The light came on full bright and there was no wolf. I screamed at the top of my lungs, and my mom came running down the stairs. There was no wolf. There was no way any animal could have gotten into the house. I still can not explain this today. I still have nightmares about lights only coming on 1/2 way, and it immediately wakes me up in a cold sweat.
