I woke up at 1:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I turned on the tv to the animal channel. Meerkats Manor was on, I watched that show for the next three hours. How funny those things are. The narriator of the show made me think they are very smart animals, too. That Flower is a baby factory.

I just watched a clip of this on YouTube. It seems very interesting. I never knew people could get that close to the meerkats.

They have cameras placed all over where the meerkats live and play, even underground in their burrows. I've never seen them up close and personal.

Meerkat Manor is on every Friday. Mozart , sister of Flower, was chased off because she was having a forbidden affair. Only Flower, the alpha female, is allowed to mate and have babies. So if Mozart is pregnant, her babies won't survive since she is on her own with no meerkats to help her raise them. Shakespere has not returned and it is feared he is dead. The Meerkats have moved to a new resort-type home near a lake. It's a meerkat soap opera!

I saw a story on this a few days ago on the Today Show. Shakespeare was like a "Who shot J.R." moment in the series, according to the Today Show segment.

Yes, there is still no word of Shakespeare's whereabouts, and Mozart lost her unborn babies from the overnight cold since she was forced out of the family and she had no one to keep her warm in the cold night. Sadly, it was for the best that she did lose them since Flower is again pregnant and still has a few very young pups. However; now the rival gang has Flower and her pups traped in the burrow, and are digging down to get her while the rest of Flowers gang is off somewhere else forageing for food. If they don't get back home in a hurry, Flower and her pups will be killed!

This is drama! I hope Flower is OK. That would be horrible if they died, not to mention the ratings for the show.

Meerkats is on tonight, at 8 p.m. on Animal Planet. I think Mozart is allowed back into the gang. Also, Flower is still threatened by the rival gang so who know what will happen to her and her pups.

Mozart (Flower's wayward daughter) was allowed back into the gang. The Whiskers (Flower's gang) returned just in time to find the rival gang trying to dig down to Flower and the few other gang members with her, but they were attacked by the rest of Flowers gang and a huge fight ensued. One large male of the rival gang was killed but the Whiskers were none the worse for the fight. Overnight, Flower gave birth to a litter of five meerkat pups. I can't remember their names right now; one is named nutmeg though. Back at the nursery burrow the next day, all the meerkats left and went out to find food, leaving an irresponsible young male to babysit. He got bored and abandoned the infants. In the meantime a bad storm came up and the foraging Whiskers had to take shelter for many hours. The babies were alone with no food or anyone to care for them but finally the storm quit and the meerkats got back to the babies. The irresponsible guy was out looking for a female meerkat to have some fun with and came across an old flame from the rival gang; he thought he'd have another go at. She had three babies and he realized they were his. Guess they can tell by the smell. Anyway, the rival gang saw mr. irresponsible trying to sneak up on her and they chased him off. In the meantime, being that the rains had caused the desert to bloom and the grass was tall, meerkat preditors are easily able to sneak up on the meerkats and eat them but the meerkats are smarter than that and discovered a fan cobra trying to get lunch. They circled the snake except for one side to give it an excape route, then they taunted the snake to scare it away but it wouldn't leave. Just then, overhead, a snake eating eagle saw them and was heading their way. The meerkats ran and hid but the snake was probably the eagle's lunch. There was another fight between the rival gang and the Whiskers, again, because of mr. irresponsible leading the bad gang back to Flower. Have to wait until next Friday to see what happens.

Nothing extrodinary happend in last night's episodes. The Whiskers went to the rival gang's burrows to beat them up and got split when half of them chased a single Meerkat who turned out to be the abandoning Mr. Irresponsible babysitter, leaving the rest of them to fend off the other gang but, they retreated when the things got too hot. It appears that Mozart, daughter of the dominate female Flower, is pregnant again but don't know by which male. And, Flower is showing signs of being pregnant, too. Oh, by the way, the last litter was named Nutmeg, Pepper, Athena, Blossom and (another Greek name but I forgot). That's it with the Meerkats this week.
