TO ALL MORIMOTO FANS, LISTEN UP!
Our man Iron Chef Morimoto is back for another battle this Sunday! Let's read the synopsis shall we....
Morimoto vs. Cantu
Chicago chef Homaru Cantu challenges Iron Chef Morimoto to a battle never before seen in Kitchen Stadium. Chef Cantu, renowned for his use of lasers and technology in the preparation of his dishes is hoping to stun the judges with creativity and flavor, but will Chef Cantu’s style and flare be enough to win against Iron Chef Morimoto?
My thoughts: As much as I known the king of neo-Japanese cuisine. I must say this is a must-see battle.
My prediction: I believe Morimoto will pull it off depending on this Sunday's theme ingredient. (anyone up for a spoiler, do it now!)
Final Score: 55-41

I sincerely hope Morimoto-san wins, but I often wonder if his approach is appreciated by the judging panel.
Let us all hope the "it's too oily" woman isn't a judge!!!

Boy, I certainly hope she's not a judge, too!
I always enjoy the challengers who use technology to prepare their dishes. Lasers? Sounds like a fun show.
It's also good to see Morimoto again. He sure gets slighted when it comes to ICA matches, doesn't he? It's as if the producers go out of their way to NOT give him battles.

Part of it can be due to scheduling -- I gather that Mo's spending more time getting his restaurants established than Flay / Batali. All the more so because his staff still needs training; the New York Times review wasn't all that good compared with Batali's and he needs to build his establishment's reputation up.
Another part is telegenic: it's hard to deny that Mo's accent and thin voice aren't really made for American television, so producers would call on him less.
And then there's reputation: because of that statistical misprint, Morimoto can be a bit intimidating for chefs not familiar with the format.

Hmmm, makes sense. Desperate Housewives comes on at 9, too, tonight. I think I may wait until next Saturday and watch Mo, but still video tape the show. Still haven't got my dvd recorder hooked up.

What an excellent battle. Chef Cantu was the best challenger on the show, in my opinion, so far! Both chefs did awesome.

I guess I'm not supposed to say who won, but Morimoto's presentation was incredible. By far the most fascinating battle yet. Bare hands and liquid nitrogen!!
Morimoto seems to be the guy who draws the toughest competition and he's battling western-trained taste buds to boot. Dona now Cantu. Major props to the Man.
