I don't see Flay leaving any time soon. If an ICA left, it would be Morimoto. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that none of them leaves.

Bottom line is do we really need another reality show on television? I'm with you, AC.......I was saying the same thing about 20 reality shows ago.

In my opinion...
I think Chef Jill Davie would be a best (and second) female IC to date.

I highly doubt Flay will leave ICA. He's probably the most popular Iron Chef (which may explain why he battles so much more often than the others. Or, possibly the fact that he has the more time for ICA battles/preparation).
I thought too that, if they would oust one of the chefs, it would be Morimoto. However, I mostly believe that they will have 5 chefs...the more chefs, the less of a scheduling nightmare for the Iron Chefs, and the most battles they can schedule per season.
I still have the impression that it must take up a ton of time for these Iron Chefs to prepare for battles. Having more iron chefs would alleviate that a bit.
I also wonder what professional chefs (possibly alot of former ICA challengers) will appear in this new reality. I would love to see alot of familiar faces. I'm not a huge fan of "reality" shows, but I love the stuff Food Network puts out. Less about the drama and more about the competition, I think.

I seriously doubt they'll have 5 chefs, for the following reasons:
1. Karma. Hattori said it best: The Iron Chefs are meant to be analagous to the Four Devas of Buddhism, symbolic protectors of the culinary arts. That sort of numerology is important to the original concept of IC (if it wasn't, they would have added an Iron Chef Korean to the original ICJ).
2. Exclusivity. The Iron Chefs are meant to have the conceit of being the best chefs in the nation. Whether or not it's true is a matter of debate, but there's no question that it's meant to be an exclusive club, now with 10 members (14, if you count ICUSA).
As an aside, depending on how they run the show, it will be interesting. If they do it tournament fashion (and I think they will), the winner will be an Iron Chef who will have been seen to have earned the title, rather than been appointed.
3. Expense. This is one that I think heckxx forgot. It costs a lot of money to stage these battles, not to mention the fact that Kitchen Stadium isn't a permanent installation; the studio is always redressed for Emeril Live! and other FN specials. So a budget would limit the number of episodes that Triage can produce, and it would limit the number of Iron Chefs who can be retained for episodes.

Honestly, I think Morimoto might leave the show. He is featured in so few episodes to begin with. I don't WANT him to leave, but it might turn out that way.

I'm sick of reality shows. And i'm going to be really mad if Morimoto leaves. Maybe mad enough to stop watching.
If we were to get another IC, i'd like to see Puck come back. I know he's busy, but he rocks!

He would be just what ANY show could use. He's so skilled.
