Welcome to the second installment of the Ultimate Iron Chef Survivor series! I'm Mandy, and for the next three months or so, we'll be seeing who really is the best of the best in the Iron Chef world. In the last installment, we've inducted someone into immortality.
Ultimate Iron Chef Survivor 1 Grand Champion: Rokusaburo Michiba
Who will be joining the first Iron Chef Japanese in the Hall of Fame loft? Here are the 26 contestants ready to do battle. (NOTE: At the end of the last installment, I had said 21 contestants. But just as I was typing this out, I thought we'd add a few more names to the list; the majority of those being Americans.)
1. Yutaka Ishinabe
2. Hiroyuki Sakai
3. Komei Nakamura
4. Masaharu Morimoto
5. Chen Kenichi
6. Masahiko Kobe
7. Takeshi Kaga
8. Kenji Fukui
9. Shinichiro Ohta
10. Yukio Hattori
11. Mayuko Takata
12. Asako Kishi
13. Shinichiro Kurimoto
14. Kazuko Hosoki
15. Tadamichi Ota
16. Toshiro Kandagawa
17. Lin Kunbi
18. Yasushi Akimoto
19. Tenmei Kanoh
20. Chua Lam
21. Masaaki Hirano
22. Bobby Flay
23. Mario Batali
24. Wolfgang Puck
25. Alton Brown
26. Kevin Braunch
With that settled, we've got some rules for you. As courtesy of the first installment:
1. Five votes will eliminate a player, but I will add one for every division that we advance to until we get to eight votes.
2. One vote per day only. I will try to update around 12am EST. If I update early, you're okay to vote again.
3. Any player who has voted correctly 6 or more times will be allowed to "Seek Revenge" ONE time on behalf of a player. You may bring back any of the last five players that have been eliminated, but no voter or player may Seek Revenge more than once, and under no circumstance will you have less than three days to Seek Revenge. This feature will become null and void when we are down to five players. (And I will promise to enforce it when the time comes this time around...)
4. You may vote for a player up to five times, but may not vote someone off by yourself. You also may not vote for a player four days in a row or four times in five days. If a player has "sought revenge", then you may vote up to five more times for that player. But these rules will apply.
5. The "Sudden Death" option works the opposite of Seek Revenge. You state that you want a player to face Sudden Death and everyone votes the next day on whether or not s/he is eliminated. Majority rules, and a 50-50 tie will always go in favor of the player. No player may face Sudden Death more than once. If a player is brought back, then he or she MUST be voted off the old-fashioned way. Please...no more than 3 Sudden Deaths at a time.
6. Freeze Frame can be used up to 2 times on any player (and only two times, even if someone has sought revenge). A player protected by Freeze Frame cannot have a vote cast against him or her, but the Freeze Frame will expire in 3 days (after my update, so no one graps straws over what minute). A Freeze Frame takes effect the minute someone uses it but cannot be used if a player is facing or nominated for Sudden Death. Freeze Frames do not stack, so one has to expire before another one can be used. No Freeze Frames may be used if there are not at least 5 hosts left to vote for.
7. BRE\-/KDOWN can be used one time per player. When used, this will allow four votes to be subtrackted from the player's total (but not less than zero). This may be used in conjunction with or during a Freeze Frame, but does not affect Sudden Death voting. May be used a second time if a player has sought revenge.
8. 10-Spot. You nominate a player for the 10-Spot the same way you nominate a player for Sudden Death. If the majority of people agree, then a player will require 10 votes to be eliminated. 10-Spot can be used with any other feature except that you cannot nominate a host for Sudden Death and the 10-Spot on the same day (but can still be nominated for Sudden Death). Please...no more than 3 10-Spot nominations in a day, and all 10-Spots will expire when we are down to the final two. Also, no more than 6 players can be protected at any time by the 10-Spot.
Now that the mandatory business is out of the way, I think we're ready to crown the next UICS champion! And I don't think that person's going to be Kazuko Hosoki.
