Since there's a big snowstorm outside, I'm going with a comfort food, in the form of KD.

KD rules!
We were out last evening, but I suspect we'll be eating some of the leftover pork roast (cooked Thursday) at some point today.

Sure enough, we had roast pork sandwiches.
For anyone who'll be watching the Super Bowl, do you have any special food planned?

I'm debating between store-bought chicken wings (you know, the type you pop into the oven) or home-made guacamole with tortilla chips. I'm sorta leaning towards the guac because it allows me to exercise my cooking skills more. Budweiser, of course, is standard for Super Bowl viewing.

Bagels. Thats about all I have been eating for a few days outside a simple baked potato. Tastes good though.

Amazing how good simple food can taste once you get your appetite back, isn't it? As for us, I suspect we'll polish off the baked ziti tonight. ;D

I'm doing spaghetti with chopped tomato, black olives and capers, tossed with olive oil, garlic and anchovies and dusted with parmesan. (I also just learned the parboil technique for skinning tomatoes. )

Chicken sang choy bow, beer-battered chips and, er, whatever vegetables come out of the garden.
That sounds rather odd now I look at it. I'm so gourmet.

TC, I've heard of beer-battered fish, but beer-battered chips? I'm intrigued. What sorts of veggies do you grow in your garden, and how long of a growing season do you normally have?
And I have no clue what to have for supper tonight. I don't have much on hand to cook with; I need to go replenish my groceries.

You haven't heard of it? Must be a national thing, then... Well, last time I checked, we had long beans, snow peas, tomatoes, carrots... and probably some other stuff. The growing season here is pretty much all year round, seeing as our winter doesn't even warrant frost at the coldest times. xD But the tomatoes and other soft veggies kick it in about June if we don't look after them. Summer's been good this year, our garden is actually green.

Actually sending out for pizza tonight. Mainly because a) I'm feeling under the weather and b) I already dirtied a couple of pots making Alton Brown's carrot firecracker pickles. (Should be ready by Friday. Oughta be . . . interesting.)
