What do all think about the Truffle Battle? I thought Dr. Yukio Hattori would pull it through, but he's wasting time and ended up with three dishes...as for Michiba-San, he says that truffles weren't so popular in Japanese cooking, so he did his honest best with six or seven dishes using truffles. I amazed Yutaka Ishinabe was the guest commentator and Jacques Borie and Joel Robuchon was present at the royal box and were looking on to a graceful battle.

MISTEE, I figured you'd enjoy battle truffle since IC Ishinabe was in the room. Too bad they didn't show him very often. I thought IC Michiba was so cool and in charge, but like he said, cooking has no boundarys.

I think Doc went into the battle planning to have fun only. I don't think he does much cooking, only educating people at his school on how to cook. Anyway, it was such fun to see Doc Hattori in that light. He is such a neat guy. I loved the kimono he was wearing, too.

Hattori always talks about the foie gras thing, whenever one of the chefs is using truffles. Lol.
