Thank you for your kind words! I'm in Japan. I was actually confused if I should take part in this site because my English skill is not enough to write in this kind of site. I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself before my comment. I'm Miwa. I just joined this site today. My comment was by the resource of a Japanese site. I just became a fan of Iron Chef as I was checking a lot about the original Iron Chef Japan after I knew the renewal version 2012 would start last October. I, of course, watched it timely on TV before, and I liked it, but now, love it.

That's true. He was born in 1931 (same year as Michiba). He was old. It was cardiac infarct. He passed away at a hospital in Chiba, Japan, his home town. His father was a chef for Rosanjin. Also he was an ex-coworker of Asako Kishi, a great judge, you know. Big loss for Japanese culinary field.
