We have had some videos taken down by Stage6. We had a full episode pulled down a week or so ago. Today, we had two clips removed from Beyond Kitchen Stadium (The Futurama 30% Iron Chef episode and the Bobby Hill IC clip) because of a complaint from Fox. Hopefully, this won't start a bunch of video pulls by Stage6, but you might want to head over there and download anything you want just in case. We'll try to keep you posted on any new video removals. If anybody wanted the Futurama or Bobby Hill clips but was unable to get them, let me know. I still have them.

Yikes! Well, I suppose it was really only a matter of time. Thanks for the heads up!

It was an eggplant battle with Kobe. I'm sure we'll re-upload it eventually.
The good news is that the episode pull was apparently just because of a user complaint (We don't know who nor do we know why.) Since the removal request message did not have a specific company's name, I think the other episodes are pretty safe for now.

Well, I don't think Food Network or Fuji would care about the ICJ episodes, but I can see where Fox wanted the Futurama episode pulled. I think the rest of the ICJ episodes are safe for now. I think it should be safe to upload the Eggplant battle again after a week or two- I can't see why anyone would want to have that video pulled.

70+ full episodes were pulled down by Stage6 with no explanation. They may or may not be reuploaded over there. We might be working on finding an alternate place to put all of the episodes back up.

Thought I'd stop by to give an update on the video situation.
No other videos have been removed by Stage6 since the 70 episodes were taken down. We are in the process of uploading episodes on a new website. When that website is ready to go, we'll defintely let you know where to go to get Iron Chef episodes.

That's good to hear. Really appreciate the trouble you've taken -- Didn't think I'd see some of these episodes again, so I'm really grateful!

You're doing the right thing by not reuploading the episodes on Stage6.
Is the new place going to be a site where I have to download the episode first before having the opportunity to watch it? I'm not sure my computer's going to enjoy that.

It will probably be downloads at first, because, in all honesty, it's the easiest way to have it set up. Although, it may also depend on the way the files are handled your browser. When I started testing links, my browser tried to play them in the window because they are .avi files. I had to change my settings so it would download the file instead. If that doesn't work, I'm pretty sure we can make pages with an embeded DIVX web player. Another idea that might work. If you use VLC to play video, try this. Choose "Open Network. . ." and put this URL as the target. www.ironcheffans.info/episodes/1994/IC229.aviIt should start streaming the video. Let me know if that works. (This worked in VLC, but for some reason did not work for me in Quicktime player or WMP. It might work for you, though.) Try this address and let me know if it works. episodes.ironcheffans.info/eptest.htm

I'd actually prefer a download site. You can always right-click on the links and hit "save target as" to save the file to your computer instead of having it pop up and load in a media player. By putting them up for download in .avi format instead of only hosting it as a divx file, site users can burn the episodes on a dvd, which is most likely what most fans would want to do.
Oh, and both of the above links worked for me. Thanks for all the effort you guys have put into hosting these episodes.

Tuthead, thanks for the updates and the new site. Will you or lost be unbanned from Stage6 or is it permanent?
Also, any chance you and the others can upload IC torrents again? Demonoid may be gone for a while, but maybe TorrentReactor or PirateBay would work?
MA, avi and divx files are essentially the same thing with (sometimes) different codecs. A divx file is always an avi, but is sometimes given a .divx file ending and sometimes has a .avi. An avi file is not always a divx file though. A friend of mine has a DVD player (I think it's divx ultra certified, but maybe not) that will play avi files, which includes divx and I have a DVD player that is divx certified, so it only plays certain avi or divx files. *sigh* I have converter, but it's hard to find time to do the many files (non-IC) I have that I'd like to watch on the TV instead of the computer monitor.

Eiko, could you then burn .divx files on dvds as if they were .avi files and expect them to play fine in most DVD players?
It makes very little sense that Lostbabee and you were banned, Tuthead. I wonder if Food Network or Fuji is quietly behind this, or if this is a silly private matter.

The others in the channel over there seem to think it is a silly personal thing. I would think that if Fuji or FTV were involved, all of the episodes would have been pulled. I still have an account on stage6 and can post in the forums. I have a lot of negative karma, so I can't start any channels, but I think I can still upload.
And the main reason I renamed the .divx to .avi was because of a problem with the host. (The server knew what to do with .avi files. It seemed to choke on .divx) Some of the files I have uploaded on the new site are xvid instead of divx. They play just fine on the computer, but I don't know if they'll play on a DIVX certified DVD player.
And an update on the new site: We currently have 51 episodes in the list and ready to be watched/downloaded. (And another 15 videos under Beyond Kitchen Stadium.) I have another 11 episodes that have been uploaded but haven't been added to the database yet. We want to have enough selection to make visiting the site worth it, so we'd like to add a few more episodes before inviting everyone over to check it out. Thank you to everyone for being patient with us while we get ready what I think will be the largest collection of Iron Chef episodes and related video anywhere on the web.
