I am writing a movie script based on "Iron Chef America" for this category and need a little help. So, in replying to this post, please answer the following questions: 1. Which American Iron Chef should the protagonist choose to battle? 2. What should the secret ingredient be? and 3. Who would you want on the judging panel? (For this question, choose up to three from this list.) The top vote getters for each question will be written into the script, which will be posted in this thread upon completion. (For the judging panel question, the top three vote-getters will be selected.) Thanks for helping!

And the biggest question of all, which will have a direct impact on the resolution of the storyline:
Should our main character-the challenger-beat the Iron Chef?
I cannot say why I ask this, but I can assure you that the result of the battle will have a direct impact on the remainder of the story.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Arri! Hubby's always wanted to see peanut butter or Cheez Whiz be the secret ingredient, so it came to mind right away. I'm of two minds over who should win, though. Batali has a really good winning record so it would be realistic to have him win (in spite of an oddball ingredient), but there sure would be a "wow" factor if the challenger was victorious. Call me undecided - someone else will have to make the decision on who wins.....

Yeah, I can't really pick either. Maybe you could flip a coin?
I think it would be a blast to see peanut butter as an ingredient but cheeze wiz?

I just came up with an idea, inspired by the Gwyneth Paltrow film " Sliding Doors." At the moment of the verdict, the timeline splits into two parallel worlds: one in which the challenger (my script's protagonist) wins, and one in which the Iron Chef wins. We could then see how the result of the battle one way or the other influences the result of each world's storyline. So, with that out of the way, back to my original three questions.

I think it would be a blast to see peanut butter as an ingredient but cheeze wiz? Hubby has always loved the stuff, what more can I say?

Neo - I was telling my husband about this thread, and his suggestion is that the challenger win by one point, in plating. I promised I would pass along his suggestion.

Good news, folks:
I will have the script ready on October 10th, the exact 15th anniversary of the Japanese premiere of "Iron Chef." I am also working on a novelization of the script, but that will be a little longer, as I am having to come up with new story sequences that will flesh out the story.

I was even able to add a reference to the exploding butane lighter during the Adjey/Symon battle last night.

Here's the project in script form: Faith of the Heart: An "Iron Chef America" Movie (script)The novelization I am working on now will be properly tailored to your suggestions, herringchoker, as I wanted to get this script finished in time for today's fifteenth anniversary of "Iron Chef."
