I may have asked you this before, KK, but if I did I don't remember the answer Are you a fan of Formula 1 racing at all? It comes to mind because this weekend is the Australian Grand Prix.

No, not really. I prefer AFL Footy (which incidently, started last week. Go Carlton Blues!!!). I like the Nascars, though

Ah, Australian football....now there's a manly sport. Hubby & I are a bit of an odd breed when it comes to car racing. Many are devoted fans of NASCAR, Formula 1 or Indy Cars, but will absolutely despise the other two; we, on the other hand, enjoy watching all three.

do I detect a hint of sarcasm there, HC? *LOL* don't worry, I've heard Aussie Rules referred to as aerial pingpong as well...

Sorry, KK, absolutely no sarcasm was intended - from everything I've heard, playing in the AFL is not for the faint of heart....

it's not as bad as it used to be - over the past few years there have been a lot of rules brought in to stop a lot of the rough play - if they keep going, they'll ruin it and turn it into a girls game. A bit of biffo and agro now and again (but not too much) makes for an interesting game...

It is at times, but at least the hockey players are wearing shoulder pads, shin guards, helmets and gloves. The playoffs for the National Hockey League (NHL) started this past week....I was mortified last night when my favourite team (the Montreal Habitants Canadiens) lost 6-5 in overtime after having a 4-1 lead near the end of the second period.

Hockey isn't big in Canada, it's HUGE. That said, of the 30 NHL teams there are only 6 that are Canadian...the aforementioned Habitants Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Calgary Flames, the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks. Only the Canadiens, Senators and Canucks made the playoffs.
