Sanji Himura: Depends. If you actually visited the place, then it would go under Restaurant Recommendations. If not, then maybe under Iron Chef/Challenger discussion.

okonomiyagi: Say I want to post a restaurant review of a chef featured on an iteration of the show: would that go under the board for the show, or under Iron Chef/Challenger discussion?

ironnut77: Sanji - I believe that "two victory" rule was in the very early days of the original show, scrapped after 1993 or so.

Sanji Himura: Few were brave enough to try it in ICJ, I can count a few of them off the top of my head, Toshiro Kandagawa is a top contender.

Sanji Himura: Tell me the truth here. Am I the only one who is slightly put off over the fact that the challenger in the final battle did NOT get to pick her Iron Chef of choice to do battle with? Two victories over an IC in ICJ earns a chef IC status...

Man Alive!: Those were the days! Kitchen Stadium took in many refugees from the wonderful Iron Fans community. I miss the old crew!

ironnut77: rosdaddy - ManAlive was indeed with us on IronFans. A bunch of the IronFans members followed him here once that site was defunct. Sadly, not many remain active today.

rosdaddy: Hey ManAlive - Nice to digitally meet you (or, re-meet if you were on the boards back in the early oughts)

Man Alive!: I'm still here! My heart swells every time I see renewed interest in Iron Chef!
May 5, 2022 1:38:18 GMT -5
ironnut77: Haven't seen ManAlive in a while - hope all is well, and that he can see the slight uptick in activity on this site recently. ICJ is STILL alive!

rosdaddy: *blows dust off his old IronFans username* Well, would you look at that...here I am...again. WHAT'S UP, IRONFANS ALUMS?? (And everyone else!) Hi!!!!

icfanus5: Hello all and Happy New Year! Long time IC fan. Started watching when I was probably 10 or 11 years old, I'm 35 now! I'm sad to see a lot of the people no longer with us, like Kobe and Kandagawa.

The view from the Chairman's angle. It appears that the commentary is above the actual cooking ala ICUSA.
EDIT: I can rule out the use of the Backdraft theme to the new series. From their facebook page (translation according to Bing):
【放送まであと２日！】 新テーマ曲がついに完成いたしました！作曲家・千住明さんによるオリジナル曲のレコーディングが行なわれました！ オーケストラの方々が集結して次々と曲を仕上げていきます。 新『アイアンシェフ』にふさわしい壮大な曲はまもなくお披露目！お聴き逃しなく♪ [It is 2 days up to broadcast! ] Finally completed the new theme song! Composer / Akira senju's by recording original songs have been made! Orchestra members gathered in one place, one after the other and finish songs. New epic song "Iron Chef" worthy soon unveiling! You listen to Miss!
EDIT 2: May Ultimately be irrelevant, but here are the rules for the new series. Translation by Bing:
料理人それぞれにドラマがあるところも見どころです。 Finally start tomorrow! Broadcast just before the "Iron Chef". Resurrection in 13 years!
You think, you will see the first time that many people!
Once again explain the rule of the "Iron Chef". [Rule] fairly simple! "released from the leader / Tamaki Hiroshi immediately before the match a theme ingredient". Complete the dishes this time limit 1 hour. Just like that.
But true Cook's simple, but fair, very Hardball! Drama where each chef are a highlight.
As much as we'd like to see the original chefs return, I think we can all agree that's a highly unlikely prospect. Kobe-san is obviously the exception because he was so young in the original series, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a completely new set of Iron Chefs.
The one person I'm most hopeful the producers will try to bring back is Takeshi Kaga. Chairman Kaga was largely the heart and soul of the original series. I know his character was pronounced dead in one of the post-finale specials, but they could easily find a way to bring him back. I sincerely hope they consider it, because having Chairman Kaga presiding over Kitchen Stadium would add a lot of legitimacy to the show, even if all of the chefs were fresh faces.
I hope Kaga-san would 'come back from the dead'! and be 'reincarnated' as a judge.
