Fukui: That's an understatement, Kurimoto-san. Poor Ohta- I wouldn't want his job today!

Kanoh: Is it just me, Hattori-san, or has the theme forced both chefs to take an Italian approach today?

Doc Hattori: The challanger certainly has since I don't believe Gnocchi is Japanese. lol
Chen seems to be making an effort to put a Chinese twist to his ingredients with his hot & sour soup and tomato fried rice. We'll have to see if he suceeds.
But to give credit to the challenger the idea of Kobe Beef & Roasted Tomato Stew is unique. My only concern is whether there will be enough time to cook the collagen with out the meat becoming tough. Kobe beef is such a luxury it seems a shame to be making stew out of it.

Kurimoto: Kobe style beef? Now I am really glad that I'm here! *luaghs*

Kanoh: I'd say there will be plenty of time, Hattori-san, if he cuts the beef into bite-sized cubes.
Post--- I mean no bigger than 3/4" as a reference. End post---

Ota - (Que-san, Chef Kentaro has lots of energy today, and it sounds a bit like this may be a grudge match, the winners will be the judging panel of course. Kentaro-san has a few surprises up his sleeve. IC Chen is really focusing on his dishes. I wonder if either chef plans on making a tomato ice cream?)

Kurimoto: Tomato ice cream? I remember a tomato sorbet once, right Fukui-san?

Ota - (IC Chen, how many dishes do you hope to prepare today? What type of fish, meat, or poultry are you planning to use?) Chen: Ignore Kentaro-San, Ohta. I'm making five dishes, possibly six. The sweet and sour beef, tomatoes, and potatoes are in the salamander, the gazpacho is mixed and chilled in the fridge, now my assistants are into the hot chili prawns with tomato puree.

Ota - (squeezee-san, I'm over here with IC Chen and I can tell you he is whipping up some hot dishes. The Salamander is smiling for sure with what it is stuffed. Of course, IC Chen was victorious over Chef Kentaro's family the last two times, is this going to be strike three and you're out for our challenger and his family?

Kentaro: Don't worry! I'll have plenty of time! My assistants have already prepared the Kobe beef according to my specifications and the tomatoes are already roasting. Additionally, I have the ice cream machine running...for my tomato, basil, and pine nut sorbet! It'll be so great! <an assistant is working the pasta machine....the pasta is red!> I think a raw preparation of tomato is in order. <tastes a tomato> These tomatoes are some of the best that I have ever had. Let's see what I can do.... You'd better tighten your apron strings, Chen-san. It's time for me to shift into full gear!

Well there's your Tomato Sorbet Kurimoto. To be precise a Tomato. Basil, and Pine nut sorbet. Sounds savory. I wonder how Kentaro will be presenting it? Any chance at a taste for the rest of us?

Fukui: Doc, we're lucky that we even get to see the food, much less taste it. I don't think I've tasted any Kitchen Stadium creations in over a month. Ohta's the lucky one- sometimes he sneaks a bite when no one's around. *laughs*
