Ota - (Squze-san, I'm here in the Royal box with our challenger's mother. Kobayaski-san, it's a pleasure to have you back at kitchen stadium. How do you think the battle is going so far? (mother answers), Kentaro is doing an outstanding job in the preparation of his dishes, as usual. He is preparing things that even I have not seen him do before but it all looks very exciting. I can't wait to taste everthing. Ota, And what about the Iron Chef? (Mother answers) IC Chen is a formidibe opponent for any chef but I believe he will be defeated today. Ota, Thank you Kobayashi-sa, we shall see when the verdict is in who the best chef is. Now I'm here with Himura-san. Himura-san, I have read your book and, even though I live and work and eat in Tokyo, I have found it to be very helpful and interesting. It is a best seller, too. Tell me, where did you get the idea for the book? I know there are many other type books on the market directed toward "dummies" in various catagories, is that where your inspiration came from?)

Himura: I thought it would do some good to have a small manual to those people who do visit cities like Tokyo, New York, and Paris that also have a limited budget. My first trip to Tokyo was three days and a total budget of $1000 US.

Chen: The Lo mein noodles and Chicken and Tomatoes are incorporating the sesame oil, and soy sauce.
The rice is going to be a fried rice for the Hot Shrimp and Tomato. My assistants are firing the wok once again, frying the rice with soy sauce and sesame oil and a little garlic.
I'm taking the beef, tomatoes and potatoes off the salamander, with caution, I'm using the safetest gloves possible. It's very hot.
I got the ramekins for the gazpacho, grabbing the mint leaves for the garnishment.
Ah, the Hot and Sour Tomato soup are in the heated oven.
30 minutes to go...
Ok I said no more than five dishes, take it back, I'm making six as I told Ohta. Why not Stuffed Tomatoes, Pork!
Pork Stuffed Tomatoes it is. I oiled the wok for the pork. Adding some tomatoes, scallions, sweet n' sour sauce, bean sprouts, chopping some green and red peppers. My assistant on my right are making tomatoes into cups. I'm adding some cooked rice in the mixture.

A stuffed tomato dish! The Iron Chef is certainly useing alot of sweet and sour in his dishes. The combination sounds wonderful!
Speaking of sounding wonderful, Ohta, can you find out from Kentaro whether his tomato pasta is Soba style or an egg noodle? I'm afraid I missed that.

Kentaro: It is indeed soba style! I added in some tomato paste and red spices to make the dough red!
I'm going use some Sichaun chiles in my marinara sauce to make my Pasta Arrabiata! I've decided to combine Japanese, Chinese, and Italian elements into one (if I do say so myself, and I do) taste dish.
I'm also going to be preparing some Sun-dried Tomato and mozzerella bruschetta! You'll all love.
Okay, my assistants, let's hustle!!!!

20 MINUTES TO GO!
Fukui: Thanks Ohta! Battle Tomato is officially three-fourths over, and both chefs have really turned up the heat. Doc, I have to ask though on Challenger Kentaro's dish: Does combining Japanese, Chinese, and Italian cuisines happen very often? Will it work?

Ota - (Squwee-san, IC Chen has begun to select the plates and dishes he will be using for his prepreations. As usual, he sets up very nicely. I think all of us on the announcing staff may just get lucky today as both chefs seem to have prepared more food than what the judging panel will be able to eat.)

Chen: Oh boy...time flies...so here's the scoop:
My assistants are plating up as Ohta-said. The entire staff will enjoy these fine dishes of mine.
My Chinese Gazpacho is out ready to be in the little ramekins, again have the mint leaves for garnish.
With caution...the Sczechaun Beef Stew with Tomatoes are out the oven are in over the rice.
My Hot and Sour Tomato Soup ready to plate. It's kinda like a egg drop soup, but it's spicy version with some cherry tomatoes. I put some scallions on the side.
For my father, I have Hot Chili Prawns and Tomato Fried Rice. Serve in a bowl as well.
Chicken and Tomato LoMein is plated up.
Now my stuffed tomatoes are plated up with tomato cups, (of course on the plate too) The pork mixture is going in the tomato cup.

Doc, I have to ask though on Challenger Kentaro's dish: Does combining Japanese, Chinese, and Italian cuisines happen very often? Will it work? Not often no. The challenger picked a good dish to try it in though. The soba noodles should work with the spices in Pasta Arrabiata and if done correctly it should be very reminisent of Schezwan style cooking. Rather gutsy of Kentaro to take Chen on with his forte if I say so myself. Speaking of Chen we have a good look at his menu now. Chinese Gazpacho, a Sczechaun Beef Stew with Tomatoes on rice, Hot and Sour Tomato Soup, Hot Chili Prawns and Tomato Fried Rice, Chicken and Tomato LoMein, and stuffed tomatoes. He still has some work to be done before he finishes but it looks like he'll finish all 6 dishes on time. I would also say that Kentaro isn't the only one to borrow from the Mediterranean in this battle since Gazpacho is originally from the south of Spain. I wonder how soon it will be before we start seeing the challengers dishes come together?

Kanoh: I'd say that one of the Iron Chef's soup is comming together already thanks to the earthened pot.
