"Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are."

Fukui: "Nearly a decade ago, a man's fantasy became reality in a form never seen before: Kitchen Stadium, a giant cooking arena. The motivation for spending his fortune to create Kitchen Stadium was to encounter new, original cuisines that could be called true, artistic creations."
*cut to Kaga yelling 'Allez Cuisine'*
"To realize his dream, he secretly started choosing the top chefs of various styles of cooking. And he named his chefs the Iron Chefs: The invincible chefs of culinary skills. Iron Chef Japanese Masaharu Morimoto. Iron Chef French is Hiroyuki Sakai. Iron Chef Chinese is Chen Kenichi. And Masahiko Kobe is Iron Chef Italian.
Kitchen Stadium is the arena where Iron Chefs await the challenges from master chefs from around the world. Both the Iron Chef and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, and creativity, they are to prepare artistic dishes never tasted before. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Stadium, where master chefs pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Chef fight back? The heat will be on!"
Kaga: If memory serves me right, food critic and culinary expert Sanji Himura first stepped into my Kitchen Stadium to observe Battle Tomato between Iron Chef Chinese Chen Kenichi and Challenger Kentaro. He then returned to fill in for food commentator Doc Hattori in Battle Lobster, between Iron Chef Kobe and honorary Iron Chef Michiba. Little did we know that during his brief visits to my stadium, he had a plan of his own brewing.
Himura confided in me after Battle Lobster that he always thought that he was as good a chef as any of my Iron Chefs, and that his trips to Kitchen Stadium were about much more than observing battles. Indeed, Himura-san has been strategizing for his own battle against an Iron Chef! A traitor from within my own guest ranks- so be it! My Iron Chefs welcome the challenge.
Allow me to reintroduce today’s challenger, esteemed food critic and author Sanji Himura!
When asked which of my Iron Chefs he wanted to battle, Himura-san told me that of all the Iron Chefs, he was very impressed with Iron Chef Italian Masahiko Kobe. His recent defeat of the mighty Michiba makes him a worthy adversary to Himura’s hidden talents.
So now, Sanji Himura, show us your power as a chef, and take down the man who was able to best Michiba himself!
Himura: I’ve seen so many battles, I feel like I’ve done this before. Bring it on, Kobe-san! I’m ready for you!
*Kaga steps into Kitchen Stadium. The camera pans around a large column, showing Kaga stepping up to center stage. The Chairman looks around at the many features and ingredients in Kitchen Stadium, and his eyes land on a yellow bell pepper in front of him. He picks it up, and takes a bite. Suddenly, a large smile spreads across his face, as the camera pulls back, revealing the once-empty Kitchen Stadium now full of Gourmet Academy chefs. Flames burst onto the screen, and in both Japanese and English characters appears the words: Iron Chef. The camera pans once more around the Kitchen Stadium, and the events are now ready to begin*
*Kaga steps out into Kitchen Stadium*
Kaga: Today’s challenger is a food critic who has witnessed two battles in Kitchen Stadium firsthand. He has proven to us, by filling in for Doc Hattori, that he knows much about the culinary world, but does he have what it takes to take down one of my Iron Chefs? Let’s find out! Toda’s challenger, food critic, expert, and culinary author… Sanji Himura!
*Curtains swing back as Himura-san steps into Kitchen Stadium and slowly and confidently walks up to Kaga*
Fukui: There he is, the man who has been observing Kitchen Stadium and waiting for the right time to strike! He’s been here before, and thinks he can beat an Iron Chef- this is going to be a battle for the ages.
Kaga: Welcome. So, what brings you back to Kitchen Stadium?
