Hattori: (to sous chef) Get the cheese from the oven.
*Hattori is carefully stacking a small mound of fresh greens on a plate. He picks up the bowl with the cream dressing, grapes, artichoke hearts, and roasted almonds and gives it a stir. He then carefully spoons 1/3 cup cup on top of the greens.
Omae can be seen laying five Pork Balls in a semi-circle on a square, white, plate with a small sauce cup in the center.*
Hattori: (to Omae) As soon as you are finished there slice the chicken for the salad. I want them sliced on an angle.

Ota - Ku-san, the challenger is going to make fried grapes, [glow=red,2,300]HOW COOL IS THAT! [/glow] I think he wants to impress Wong-san. Sanji-san, please, tell us about the fried grapes, they sound very interesting.

It fits with the overall theme of my meal. Since grapes is not used in chinese and japanese cooking, I'm preparing dishes that I feel that grapes can fit right at home with, like the rainbow trout grape sushi, the shark fin soup done with grape juice, and this. *yells to assistant* Hey, is the tempura ready?
Assistant: first batch is out of the frier now.
*to another assistant* I want you to get me something to serve the tempura on. Nothing too fancy, but not plain either.

Kateyama: Fried grapes, they should be interesting. Grapes are so delectable these days, but fried, boy that Sanji-san is such a creative one.

*to assistant 1* Okay, the five minute alarm sounded. I need another round of the wine. *assistant pours the glass* This stuff is terrible. Forget this, I won't serve it.
*to assistant 2* How's the tempura?
Assistant 2: It is going great, boss.
*does a quick count of the tempura* Finish this batch and plate it in groups of 4.

*Omae lays three pieces of sliced chicken against each other on the top of the grape salad and then sprinkles some roasted almonds over the top.*
Omae: Done.
Hattori: Good. Pull a sorbet out of the freezer for it’s final garnish.
(To sous chef) Get me as many grape leaves as you can.
*Hattori carefully pours the dark red sauce into the small cups on the plate with the pork balls and taking a brush paints a half circle on the side.
The sous chef returns with several handfuls of grape leaves*
Hattori: Good. Lay two leaves per plate and group three of each type of frozen grape on top; green, red, and purple. Make it look as natural as possible in the arrangement.
Omae: The sorbet.
*Hattori carefully splashes a few drops of Ouzo over the top and adds a sprig of fresh mint.*
Hattori: Done. Now please get me some twigs of rosemary for garnishing the cheese plate. I will see to it’s sauce myself.

Ota - Ku-san, I'm here with Doc. Hattori. He is beginning to plate now, and between him and Omae it appears to be a work of art, something even IC Sakai [glow=red,2,300](have to mention HIS name at each battle)[/glow] would enjoy. I'm sure the tasting panel will find Hattori-san's platings quite delightful.

Judy Wong - Oh, how sad, looks like Sanji-san is not happy with the wine and is throwing it in the sink. Well, I applaud his good efforts. [glow=red,2,300] Yay to you Sanji-san! You're a hero for trying.[/glow]

Fukui: Hey there, Sanji-san, don't run up the Chairman's bill too high! Kaga-san does have to pay for that wine, you know.

Chai Lam: The challenger was making wine not using wine Fukuisan. *Chuckling* He just used up those perfect grapes. I am looking foward to the sorbet on Docs side. It is like a parfeit. It looks like the challenger is under more pressure from Hattori than the Iron Chef.

Wong-san, true, Lam-san. And, with all the expensive food thrown in the trash, i.e. truffles, goose liver, etc., I don't think grapes will make or break the Chairman.

*leaning over the sink watching the wine go down the drain*
Assistant 1: Hey boss, I know that this battle has taken a toll on you. Go sit down and let us finish. *hands me a can of soda* Here, finish this off.

Wong-san - This has been a long day for all of us, chefs, tasting panel, Kaga-san, and Ota-san alike. What an exciting day, Fukui-san. Regardless of the outcome, we were fortunate to have these magnificent chefs, Sanji-san and Doc Hattori, here in kitchen stadium. I hope Sanji-san will be a constant member of the staff in some way.
