Otha- Fukui-san. I got some vauge info from the Iron Chef's side. He is shocked that he drew octopus again, seeing as he already lost an octopus battle before. He is also too busy with the theme ingredent that he hasn't had any time to even think on how many dishes he will be preparing. While I had the Iron Chef, I asked him on his reaction about Sanji-san's grudge against Kitchen Stadium, and he told me that he doesn't see how any of this had anything to do with him, and promptly dismissed me. Back to you.

*Chen can be seen cutting the tentacles off the octopus and throwing them in a pot already holding a couple of crabs*
Chen: (to sous chefA) Quickly get the sack in the pressurecooker with the daikon and salt.
(to sous chefB) I need the octopus and shrimp minced right away so we can get the rice cooking.
*Chen begins filleting the hoods/sack as the sous chefs jump too.)
Chen: (to self) come on... think.

(IC Sakai, in the Royal Box). WOW, I'm sure happy Chen-san was chosen for this battle. Last time I had to work with live octopus, it almost put me in the hospital. Good Luck Chen-san!

Hattori: It seems like the iron chef is making an Asian version of Bouillabaisse. I hope the iron chef is careful with the pressure cooker because the octopus can be over cooked in it and would become rubbery. It also looks like the Chen-san is making octopus rice.

Otha- Fukui-san. One of the Iron Chef's assistants managed to slip me a few notes. Let's see here, the Iron Chef will be making four dishes today, and if he has time, possibly a dessert too. He also has the following ingredents that he will be using today, in addition to crab, dikon radish, and shrimp, he also has bonito, garlic, green onions, ginger, red bean paste, tomato paste, rice vinegar, black bean sauce, onion, souchong tea, soy sauce, sherry, cider vinegar, and maple syrup. Back to you.

*Okabe running up to the stand grabbing different sized octopi*
Okabe: I'm starting on my first dish, a octopus salad. The octopus are soaked in sake and pomegranate juice, and then boiled. The are tossed in a salad of thinly sliced cucumber, daikon radish, celery, and bell peppers. All of this is coated with olive oil, some of the remaining marinade and lemon juice. Some pomegranate seeds are tossed in for color and flavor completing this Japanese twist on a Italian dish.

Chen: (to sous chefA) We have 2 pressure cookers? Good, get it.
*Chen tosses in the prepared octopus he's been working on.*
Chen: Here's what were going to do.
*measures in black bean sauce, garlic, ginger, onion*
(to sous chefA) The pressure cookers are your responsibility. Pull them early. Better to be slightly undercooked rather then over. I want them to be rested for 5 minutes before releasing the pressure as well so the octopus doesn't toughen from the change in pressure. While they're cooking you are to prepare the long beans.
*adds souchong tea and soy sauce*
(to sous chefB) I need you to concentrate on preparing the octopus. Cleaning and slicing both fillets and curls, mostly curls. We're going to need alot.
*adds sherry... carefully*
That will leave me free to flavor the broth and prepare the marinades.
Got it?
Sous chefs: Yes sir.
Chen: Good, do it.
*tips in just a touch of cider vinegar, pours some maple syrup in, slams the lid on the pressure cooker, and hands it off as they all scramble.*

Otha- Fukui-san. I finally got some reactions from the challenger. He apparently is as tight lipped as the Iron Chef is considering that Sanji-san is risking his reputation on his performance today, but I did get some info. He says that the theme is tough, considering that the theme isn't used in french cusine, and that he is shooting for five dishes today. He also has some vegetables, and other seafood out on his side of the kitchen and when I asked him about representing Sanji-san, he told me that Sanji-san did not deserve to lose last time, and he will regain his confidence with a win today. Back to you.

Hattori: I'm glad to be back. I see both chefs using methods that will help tenderize the octopus. The quick boil the challenger is using should produce a chewy but sashimi like texture. His dish is similar to a Italian seafood salad. The pressure cooker on the iron chef side should produce a tender stewed octopus if it is not over cooked.
Kanou: I'm glad you have invited me. One of my favorite ingredients is octopus. I heard that potatoes, octopus and another ingredient are ladies favorite ingredient. Is that true Dreyfuss-san?
*Hattori chuckles at hearing the old saying*

Otha- Fukui-san. I noticed that the Iron Chef was in scramble mode over on his side of the kitchen, so I asked him if it is the pressure that Kaga-san placed on him because of one of Sanji-san's challengers is here, or the reputation that the challenger defeated Sakai-san in the past, and he told me that it was the theme ingredent of all things. He thought about what he did wrong in his first octopus battle, and he knows what he did wrong, but the theme, according to him, does not allow room for mistakes, and so he needs every second. He then dismissed me again. Back to you.

Fukui: Thanks big guy! Gee Doc, it's odd for an Iron Chef to be so troubled by the theme. If memory serves me right, two Iron Chefs have been knocked down by this ingredient- that's a record in Kitchen Stadium isn't it? The same ingredient taking out two Iron Chefs?
5 MINUTES HAVE ELAPSED

*Sous chefA is cleaning a large pot of longbeans as Chen adds a large amount of bonito to the pot with the octopus and crabs. Chen then gets to work roughly chopping up garlic, ginger and green onion with cleavers in both hands while standing on his step stool.
Nearby is a bottle of red bean paste, a can of tomato paste, and a bottle of rice vinegar.*

Hattori: I do remember other ingredients that took out the same pair of iron chefs. The ingredients are was chinese cabbage and lamb. Sakai-san and Chen-san both lost the chinese cabbage battle. Sakai-san and Nakamura-san lost the lamb battle. The red bean paste means dessert. Are the judges ready for this?
Kanou: I'm not sure is octopus will be good in dessert. The best I could hope for is red bean icecream with a octopus cracker scoop.
Hattori: How about octopus bun with sweet red bean paste and a tomato granita?
*To the guest panel. Hattori chuckles thinking about the combination.*
