Hattori: On my culinary travels to the United States, I have tried the fried turkey. It was moist and unlike many roast versions. Brining also helps quite a bit, but considering the time limit I think that would be impossible. I have baked ham with a sugar mustard crust and used the bone for soup. I must agree with Himurasan to a degree that the theme might be tough but it will come in over cooking it. Not only that, but it is impossible to deep fry a whole turkey indoors due to safety concerns, but if either of these chefs split the turkey and prepared it like fried chicken, then I would say that it would be safe to fry. They have to be careful about the bones that they leave in the bird because they are the main culprit when you have dry turkey meat. ---post--- Oh, and Arrianna, metal in the context that you were using the word is spelled meddle. ---end--- ---post--- Actually, Sanji, you're both wrong. It's mettle. ;D ---end---

Himura Akane: *Finishes gathering one of each kind of ham and two turkeys* (to sous chef A) I want plenty of fresh greens, rinsed and drained. (to sous chef B) Breakdown the first turkey, remove the skin and set it to the side. Gut them both and save the innards. *Begins slicing the fresh ham off the bone* ---post--- Actually, Sanji, you're both wrong. It's mettle. ;D ---end--- Post--------------- Mettle for the win. Post ---------- Me= 1 Sanji= 0 ---------- End Fukui: Doc, seeing as how there are two ingredients today, and that each must be used in at least one dish by each chef, how do you think the Iron Chef's strategy has changed today?

Hattori: I think that the Iron Chef's strategy will change from just planning his usual coursed meal around one ingredient to making a new menu revolving around two ingredients. This might be a slight disadvantage for him because it is unusual to have two main ingredients. I would like to see one of the chefs try to combine the both ingredients in one dish harmoniously.
Kanoh: I look forward to this feast. Look how fast both chefs are going.
Hattori: Do you see that? The challenger has pulled out some greens. Ohta what kind of greens are the challenger using?

Post... Ya right! End...
Ohta - I'm heading down to the challenger as we speak and will ask her. Himura-san, welcome to kitchen stadium. You are very brave to challenge the finest Iron Chef the world has to offer, that said, how about these two ingredients, wow, and what are your ideas for your dishes today? How many to you plan to make? What are the greens you have selected for your dishes? Tell us also about the seasonings you have set up here please.

Himura Akane: I am making a 5 course meal. Due to the ingredients I will be leaning heavily on the French side of my training. I still intend to mix both style however.
The greens are Endive and Arugula and they are for the salad course. Most of the seasonings are for the turkey sausage that will be served as part of the main course.
Excuse me.
(to sous chef B) Good, now break down the second turkey the same way, I have decided to make a soup instead. Set the breasts and skin to the side and start grinding the rest.
*tosses some Rosemary and Magoram into a smoker and adds the Ham steaks on top*

Ohta - Fukie-san, the challenger, Himura-san has everything under control here. A five course meal using both the turkey and ham is going to make ks smell like, well, get your fork and plates ready because it's gonna smell awfully good in here! Back to you.

(Ohta heads over to IC Sakai's side) Greetings Sakai-san (slightly bows). Tell me what you think of the ingredients for this battle? What are your ideas for your dishes? And, of course, how many dishes are you planning to make today (hoping Sakai will feed him)?

Hattori: Five courses. That is very ambitious for the challenger. There is the turkey soup, then a salad and then the sausage. That is three already. I hope for the main course, the fresh ham will be stuffed with the turkey sausage and pan roasted. I think the smoked ham will be part of an appetizer. I also see that the challenger is adding Shiso and Mitsuba leaves and some fresh sprigs of Rosemary and Marjoram to the turkey sausage. Just a wonderful combination. The challenger is doing extremely well.

Fukui: Sanji-san, did your wife have any strategies going into today's battle?
Post ----------------- Time wouldn't elapse until AC comes back, so try not to do much cooking. Let's see how long we can realistically stall this battle shall we?
Also, attention chefs! Please check the new "Ohta thread" in the "Backstage" forum to see if Ohta has any questions for you. Also, if you want anything said on your behalf, tell Ohta what it is there. Thanks! ----------------- End

Ohta - Squee-san, the challenger is working on the savoryness of her dishes with the herbs. She has set aside in separate dishes the shiso, and mitsuba leave, also the Rosemary and the marjoram, which will probably be used for the smoked ham steaks. The other herbs and spices, i.e., sage, garlic, ginger, nutmeg, cayenne, etc., will be mixed in with the sausage she is preparing. Even uncooked this smells well, I must say, heavenly. Himura-san is dressed in a lovely chef uniform, by the way. She has on a long white skirt and white chef jacket with gold stars around the collar and cuffs. On her head is the most unique chef's hat ever. Somewhat smaller than the IC French's but just as billowy, and is decorated with gold stars as well. The stars probably represent the fact that she is a star in her own right!
