Wow, no one has written about my fave, Sakai-san. I thought I'd post, just to get the ball rolling, so to speak. So, what do all of you Sakai-san fans love the best about him??
I love his presentations and his zen-like way he cooks in Kitchen Stadium. He rarely breaks a sweat, never seems to get his feathers ruffled. And I just happen to think he's quite handsome as well. I am a fan of the show and watch almost religeously! It's my time to relax and enjoy after my kids go to bed!

Sakai-san is my favorite Iron Chef as well. His presentations are awe-inspiring, and his dishes are all around great. He's also very dramatic and serious about his job, but manages to have a sense of humor as well. Nothing seems to bother him!

I totally agree with all the above, Sakai-san doesn't waste a move, always in control, so artistic in his presentations. I heard Fukui-san say that when Sakai was in school he was interested in being an artist and was very good a painting and drawing. LS, he is most definitely HANDSOME, sigh. My favorite IC.

Stingray, I didn't know that was an edible fish????Sakai did an awesome job. That Chef who accompanied Furuga......was he drunk or what, slapping that assistant upside the head TWICE! What a nut.

Tonight they'll do a spotlight on Sakai-San. Can't wait for that! They probably do the 5 winning battles as Michiba-San's.

IC Sakai must have been really georgous as a young man, in fact all his life, the photos Chmn Kaga showed last night on Sakai's spotlight were great (drool). Did you see all that hair on his head? (Sakai-san) is still beautiful to look at. His smile lights up the sun. "Maybe it's because Mr. Sakai started out his career as a Japanese chef, his dishes are beautiful in their presentation. He is much more sensitive than he appears." A quote by Asako Kishi in the Official Iron Chef book.

Sakai-San, uses Japanese techniques, with French cooking. that's why he knows how to use Japanese ingredients so well.
