It's set for release in March. Too bad it won't have any subtitles. Since it is going to be released, they may eventually put an issue out with the subtitles, or maybe even dub it in English. That happens sometimes with my Jackie Chan movies that were originally in Chinese without subtitles. I think it depends on if enough people request it through the film company.

You can download the movie with subtitles here There is also a sequel, Death Note: The Last Name. The Chinese and Malayasian release of the first movie should be available with English subtitles. Viz is licensing the anime to the US, they may pick up the movie as well, though Warner Bros helped produce it in Japan, they may have kept the licensing rights to the US. |

FYI, both Death Note movies are currently being showcased at US Film Festivals around the country. Keep an eye out, you may be able to see it in theaters.
Newport Beach Film Festival already aired it
6th New York Asian Film Festival will air it at this year's festival
They got rave reviews in Brussels too.
