Part One
Justin: Five years ago, a girl's fantasy became a reality in a form never seen before: Kitchen Clubhouse, a giant cooking meetinghall. The motivation to create Kitchen Clubhouse was to encounter new, original cuisines that could be called true, artistic creations.
Anna: Allez Cuisine!
Justin: To realize her dream, she secretly started chooing the top kids of various styles of cooking. And she named her kids the Iron Kids: The invincible kids of culinary skills. Iron Kid Japanese is Meredith Morimoto. Iron Kid French is Brandon Sakai. Iron Kid Chinese is Julie Kenichi. And Ronnie Kobe is Iron Kid Italian. Kitchen Clubhouse is the meetinghall where Iron Kids await the challenges from master kids from around the United States and Canada. Both the Iron Kid and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, and creativity, they are to prepare artistic creations never tasted before. And if ever the challenger wins over the Iron Kid, he or she will gain the people's ovation and fame forever. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Clubhouse, where master kids pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiraton does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Kid fight back? The heat will be on!
Anna: If my memory serves me right, Steven Nakamura has already stepped down as an Iron Kid. Therefore, I must choose a new Iron Kid of Japanese cuisine. My eyes have scanned the newspapers and internet with success. Today, I will meet this supposed top female chef.
*cut to New York City newsstand*
Meredith: So, what do you think?
Jennifer (Meredith's friend): What do I think? About what?
Meredith: There's a rumor going through the hallways of our school that there's supposed to be some famous girl coming to this very city today. She's looking for someone, but she hasn't mentioned who and for what...yet.
Jennifer: Oh, yeah. You don't know who this person is, do you?
*Jennifer opens New York Times*
*camera zooms into two pictures on front page*
Meredith: No, not really. *looks at paper* Jennifer, hold on! That's me on the front page!
Jennifer: Who's the other person?
Meredith: Someone who has the last name of Kaga. No first name, so I don't know if that's really her last.
Jennifer: And the headline?
Meredith: Hold that paper up so I can read it. *Jennifer does so* Local girl Meredith Piñeta has been selected by Anna Kaga to perform "feats of culinary greatness" as she put it. Kaga also goes on to say that if Piñeta performs well, she will be handsomely rewarded. Geez, that sounds interesting.
Jennifer: Where should you go?
Meredith: Nobu. And you're coming with me. Those are the only two logical reasons I can come up with...off the top of my brain.
Jennifer: Whatever. Let's go!
*Meredith and Jennifer head to Nobu*
*cut to Nobu outside*
*cut to Anna and Jennifer sitting at table*
Jennifer: Anna Kaga, of the Iron...?
Anna: Kids. Iron Kids. Anyway, where's this Piñeta girl? I heard she arrived ten minutes before I even walked through the door.
Meredith: Right here, Miss. *walks to table* I'm truly honored to meet you. Very much so. *bows*
Anna: Listen up. You must prepare something simple yet a little bit difficult. Nothing too simple, or you can kiss the reward right out the door. Are you ready?
Meredith: *nods*
Anna: You have ten minutes. Go.
*Meredith heads to kitchen*
*cut to kitchen*
Meredith: What to make, what to make...I know! I'll make some of my mom's famous potato soup. Never fails, she told me that much!
*10 minutes later*
Jennifer: This is some delicious soup, Meredith.
Meredith: Thank you. So...how do you like it, Anna?
Anna: I'm starting to think I should have thought of you earlier than today. Miss Piñeta?
Meredith: Yes?
Anna: How would you like to take a vacation to Kitchen Clubhouse and become my next Iron Kid Japanese?
Jennifer: Go ahead. That'll be a treat to tell everyone in the school!
Meredith: Iron Kid? Me? Well, I don't know...
Anna: This is your biggest accomplishment to date.
Meredith: Deal.
Anna: Fine. Meet me at Kitchen Clubhouse. Something in gray, please...as I don't think you have an ounce of silver in your wardrobe. Welcome to the club. *leaves*
Jennifer: YAY! You did it!
Meredith: I think I'm starting to get a little bit nervous.
Emily VO: A New York girl is the next Iron Kid Japanese. What's the word on base?
*cut to Kitchen Clubhouse outside*
Brandon: It can't be!
*cut to Kitchen Clubhouse inside*
Brandon: Another girl? How many girls are in this club?
Julie: Four. But that's not the point. How did someone get into this association with nothing but a potato soup? Do you possibly think she'll have a chance?
Anna: I'm taking mine, Julie. I know pretty much everything I need to know from her parents and teachers at her former school. Besides...it's not like she's the destructive type.
Ronnie: *walking in* What are you doing? Discussing the weather in a crossfire? I hear this girl's not too bad as a chef...
Anna: Thank you.
Ronnie: ...but she's got poor communication skills.
Brandon: She'd better be a goddess in the kitchen. Ronnie, I hope you're right.
*foghorn sounds*
Anna: That's her!
Sasami: I'll get that. *walks to main entrance, opens door* Come on in.
Meredith: Hello, there. *bows* This is the famous Kitchen Clubhouse, am I right?
Anna: Welcome, Meredith Piñeta.
Brandon: A hispanic girl?
Julie: Give her a chance. She hasn't settled in yet.
Anna: Listen, we need to get you set up quick. You've got your first battle coming up soon. There's this boy who thinks he can take you down. Sasami?
Sasami: Right here, Anna. What would you like?
Anna: Take Meredith and get her situated. We need to get everything set for the first battle.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Justin: On the next Iron Kids: Meredith's going to be in a heap of trouble when she's being rushed and tugged through the ritual. Is this too much for her? Don't miss the drama!
*commercials play, then credits*
