Sakai-san would have a advantage here in this battle.
Curry powder is a difficult seasoning to use as a main ingredient. How will Iron Chef French Sakai chefs tackle this theme against challenger Hidetoshi Ushimaru.
My opinion: Sakai by the landslide.

I've never seen this one, so I'm looking forward to it. Sakai-san all the way!

This show was a hard one for me to stay awake for, I slept until 12:45, woke up and watched until all the dishes were prepared, slipped into sleep but woke up again when the winner was being announced. It would be easier for me to watch if IC came on at 4 a.m. Both chefs made some good sounding/looking dishes.

I woke up around 3:25am central to catch this battle. You're not alone.
Sakai won anyway hehehe.

I'm ready to throw out my VCR; I tried to tape this morning's battle, and the VCR shut off during the opening segment.

I have one word (well, acronym, more precisely) for you AC - DVR! The only thing that stops it is a power outage. That said, I've had the power go off between telling it to record and the start of the show and it didn't lose the record request out of memory.

I have a tv with a built in vcr and dvd recorder. should start using it. I also have a portable vc recorder I could use. It would be much easier than trying to wake up and stay awake. I hope fn is going to change the time schedule for the IC shows soon.

We have the one the cable company provided - it's a combination cable box/DVR. If you get one from the cable company, make sure it's a two-tuner DVR, because that will allow you to record two things (if you're going to be out) or record one and watch another. if you have a single-tuner box you wouldn't be able to watch TV while the DVR is recording.
