While I do not believe in capital punishment...
I would say that the most humane method of execution is hanging using the long-drop method. If the drop is measured correctly, and the noose placed correctly, then it will cause instant death at the end of the drop, with no pain suffered by the condemned.
The long-drop method of hanging was developed in Britain by William Marwood, and mastered by some such as those of the Pierrepoint family (Henry Pierrepoint, Thomas Pierrepoint, Albert Pierrepoint), particuarily, Albert Pierrepoint who executed 608 people (200 of which were Nazi war criminals) and never had one botched execution.
Hanging also takes a lot less time to carry out, then any of the other methods of execution.
Albert Pierrepoint once executed a man in 7.5 seconds (the time from when he left his cell to the time he went through the drop).

Seph,
While I appreciate that you're trying to spark discussion, this might be a bit too controversial of a subject.....

Because most people have very strong opinions on capital punishment, and MA prefers we don't discuss topics that could result in heated disagreement/flame wars. The same goes for topics like religion or politics.

The poll question asks which method you think is the most humane and efficient, not wheter or not you support capital punishment.
So I don't see why there should be a problem.

I would prefer that topics like this are not discussed on Kitchen Stadium. They are dark, and have strong political overtones that just lead to trouble on message boards not specifically designed for them.
Seph, I can completely see why this thread could be acceptable, but I'd simply prefer it not to be discussed.
