Sanji Himura: Depends. If you actually visited the place, then it would go under Restaurant Recommendations. If not, then maybe under Iron Chef/Challenger discussion.

okonomiyagi: Say I want to post a restaurant review of a chef featured on an iteration of the show: would that go under the board for the show, or under Iron Chef/Challenger discussion?

ironnut77: Sanji - I believe that "two victory" rule was in the very early days of the original show, scrapped after 1993 or so.

Sanji Himura: Few were brave enough to try it in ICJ, I can count a few of them off the top of my head, Toshiro Kandagawa is a top contender.

Sanji Himura: Tell me the truth here. Am I the only one who is slightly put off over the fact that the challenger in the final battle did NOT get to pick her Iron Chef of choice to do battle with? Two victories over an IC in ICJ earns a chef IC status...

Man Alive!: Those were the days! Kitchen Stadium took in many refugees from the wonderful Iron Fans community. I miss the old crew!

ironnut77: rosdaddy - ManAlive was indeed with us on IronFans. A bunch of the IronFans members followed him here once that site was defunct. Sadly, not many remain active today.

rosdaddy: Hey ManAlive - Nice to digitally meet you (or, re-meet if you were on the boards back in the early oughts)
May 11, 2022 23:23:38 GMT -5
Man Alive!: I'm still here! My heart swells every time I see renewed interest in Iron Chef!
May 5, 2022 1:38:18 GMT -5
ironnut77: Haven't seen ManAlive in a while - hope all is well, and that he can see the slight uptick in activity on this site recently. ICJ is STILL alive!

icfanus5: Hello all and Happy New Year! Long time IC fan. Started watching when I was probably 10 or 11 years old, I'm 35 now! I'm sad to see a lot of the people no longer with us, like Kobe and Kandagawa.

UPDATE time! Let's make this a quickie. I'm ready to go to bed now. First, we've got some features we need to look at. Here's the Sudden Death from yesterday.
Chua Lam STAY: 0 GO: 5
First one out of the competition this time around. And now for the 10-Spots.
Shinichiro Kurimoto YES: 4 NO: 1
Toshiro Kandagawa YES: 5 NO: 0
And it looks like we all concur about these two. With that, this means we're down to 25 players. One of them is in the Danger Zone while another is under the effects of a Freeze Frame. With that being said, I think it's time to vote for today! Please do so now!
Yutaka Ishinabe Hiroyuki Sakai Komei Nakamura -- 2 Masaharu Morimoto Chen Kenichi Masahiko Kobe Takeshi Kaga Kenji Fukui Shinichiro Ohta -- 1 Yukio Hattori Mayuko Takata Asako Kishi Shinichiro Kurimoto -- X Kazuko Hosoki -- 4 Tadamichi Ota -- 2 Toshiro Kandagawa -- X Lin Kunbi -- 1 Yasushi Akimoto Tenmei Kanoh Masaaki Hirano Bobby Flay Mario Batali Wolfgang Puck -- 1 Alton Brown Kevin Braunch -- 1 (three days)

UPDATE! Tonight has been a very good night for your hostess in charge. I was a winner, not a weiner. I made it down to Victory Lane tonight. My favorite driver at the local track had won... And on top of that, he gave me a hug! Isn't that nice?
Also nice is the fact that we have dropped the player cap from 25 to 23. Nobody's in the Danger Zone, but we've got two nominated for Sudden Death, three up for tenners, and two under Freeze Frames. Wow, that's a lot of features! Okay, vote for today!
Yutaka Ishinabe Hiroyuki Sakai Masaharu Morimoto Chen Kenichi Masahiko Kobe Takeshi Kaga Kenji Fukui Shinichiro Ohta -- 1 Yukio Hattori Mayuko Takata Asako Kishi Shinichiro Kurimoto -- X Tadamichi Ota -- 2 Toshiro Kandagawa -- X Lin Kunbi -- 1 (three days) Yasushi Akimoto -- 1 Tenmei Kanoh -- 1 Masaaki Hirano Bobby Flay Mario Batali Wolfgang Puck -- 2 Alton Brown Kevin Braunch -- 1 (two days)

UPDATE! It's been a long day. Cooked before noon, spent plenty of time online before I found out that a Pogo badge has had its deadline extended (lucky me; that thing's a pain in the arse), and now it's time for the nightly duties. Features were flying yesterday, so let's start the watch with the Sudden Deaths.
Yutaka Ishinabe STAY: 1 GO: 3
Bobby Flay STAY: 1 GO: 3
Both are going. What a shocker! Okay, how about those 10-Spots?
Masahiko Kobe YES: 3 NO: 2
Mario Batali YES: 3 NO: 2
Alton Brown YES: 1 NO: 4
Kobe and Batali both get 'em while Brown's left in the dust. Now we have 21 players left with one in the Danger Zone and two still frozen. We've also changed the vote count! It now takes six votes to eliminate someone with four of 'em to put a person into the Danger Zone. Are you ready? Vote for today!
