Haven't been eating much the past couple of days; hubby had outpatient nasal/sinus surgery Friday and hasn't been feeling much like eating since then. I think it's partly because his throat is sore, partly from the breathing tube during the operation and partly because he has to breathe through his mouth until the doc takes the packing out of his nose this coming Friday.

Sorry to hear that herringchocker. I hope the surgery went well.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I can't believe it's been 10 years. What are we having for dinner? Fried chicken. It's easy and when you have been swimming for 2 hours it's nice to have lots of protein.

KK007: I LOVE pea soup.....just your mentioning it made my mouth water (and I just ate my lunch!)
Arri: Hubby is still whining some, and his throat is still somewhat dry & sore, but I think it went well. We'll know for sure on Friday. Hubby's biggest fear is that he won't be able to notice any improvement when all is said and done. The doctor assured me he would, so I've been trying to keep him positive about it all.

I haven't been eating much either, HC. I had a special church function on Monday; a potluck dinner. My stomach hasn't been the same since.

Sorry to hear it, AC. Usually church suppers are some of the best food around - too bad you happened on something that didn't agree with you.

Best cure for food poisoning and sour stomach... 1 tsp apple cider vinegar. Just swallow it. Yeah it tastes horrible but you'll feel great within 1/2 hour.
Dinner? Homemade chilli.

Hubby had his first real dinner in a week last night - I made Beefy Bacon Pasta (think chili with noodles instead of beans) and we had a side of 5-cheese garlic bread. We'll have the leftovers tonight.

Sounds good herringchoker. Glad to hear he's improving.
Last night we had pork roast with mashed potatoes and brussle sprouts.

Last night: Unagi kabayaki over rice with miso soup with tofu and fresh shiitake mushrooms. Finally found a place that carries the unagi, cooked and frozen so you don't have to cook the unagi for hours.
tonight: chicken curry over rice.

Rice with angel hair in broth with spices -- sort of a homemade Rice-A-Roni made in the rice cooker.
