Trying to make soup. Roasted butternut squash and parsnips, combined with a mirepoix and seasoned with parsley, garlic, cinnamon and curry. Fingers crossed.

I hope the soup turned out, ICC. It sure sounds good from an ingredients standpoint.
As for us, I made creamy cheezy noodles on Sunday, and we had the leftovers last night. Tonight will be burgers, because I have plans and need a quick dinner.

Actually, it worked out pretty good, especially after I puréed it with a stick blender. I hadn't realized parsnips and squash would work so well with a touch of curry.

Tonight: pan roasted herbed chicken (fried in the cast iron pan, then finished in the oven) with pan gravy, rice and sauteed zucchini sticks. Came out very well. But I'm the only one who seems to like gravy. Heee, more for me!

Mmmmmm........pulled pork.......... Sorry about that momentary lapse. Since it's cooler, I may well make comfort food (like a baked pasta dish) for dinner tonight.

Congrats to your parents, KK007! It's not many couples who make it that far any more. I hope they had a wonderful tea.

Thanks, HC. We all went out to a local restaurant, and had a great time (we had fish, by the way).

Glad to hear it, KK007! Last night we had the leftover Chili Noodles from Thursday.
Not sure about tonight - we may well end up eating out.

duck. Chinese roasted duck with rice and sauteed baby bok choy. We were at the Asian supermarket today and the roasted duck hanging in the hot foods section smelled divine. It tasted better.

Tonight: rice porridge with chicken broth, sesame oil, pickled mushrooms, canned turkey meat and jalapenos. (Stomach flu this morning, so I'm taking things easy tonight.)

And jalapenos qualify as "taking things easy"..... how?
Man, if I've had the flu the last thing I want is something spicy.

Actually, pickled jalapenos are pretty mild, since the seeds and membrane are missing. Besides the rice starch helps to dampen the heat level.

I'm with you HC - I'd steer clear of anything hot and spicy if I was sick - but then, that's just me
