Hubby's got strep throat, so soft food has been the order of the day since Sunday. I think he's starting to get better, but the antibiotics have thrown him for a loop.

Tonight: fried rice. Only instead of hauling out the wok, I used my 10.5" Lodge cast-iron skillet.
It actually worked pretty well: very little fried egg residue, which makes me suspect that a week of frying thick-sliced bacon for breakfast may have been a bit much.

Perhaps, ICC, but you have to admit your pan is now well-seasoned....

I guess we haven't been eating much in November? lol
Wednesday: Duck from the Chinese supermarket with scallion buns.
Tuesday: Chicken Tetrazzini from Monday's roast
Monday: Roast Chicken with dressing. Chicken soup from scratch for SO, who has a cold.
Dunno about tomorrow. We still have some leftovers, bits and pieces from Thanksgiving, mostly the cranberry relish and NYC cheesecake and I think, a few knishes... I'll have those for lunch tomorrow if there's any left.
hc, hope your hubby feels better.
I'm actually on vacation this week, so been doing more cooking than I normally would during the week. I still have loads to do around the house and finish Christmas shopping too.

Eiko - hubby is a lot better today, though the meds are still making him sleepy. I've got a beef roast in the oven right now.

Tonight: Vulcan plomeek soup. (The word comes from the Vulcan pl'mik, referring to the first fruit of a harvest, which tends to be under-ripe and requires much stewing.
(Okay, okay: actually I'm making a carrot and celery soup, with onion, garlic, Italian parsley, salt, pepper and red wine vinegar, which I'll whip with a stick blender after an hour of simmering and finish with heavy cream.)

Sounds good, ICC. Nice to know I'm not the only Trek fan around here.... We're having leftovers, by the way.

Make that 3. Dunno what we're having tonight yet. Last night we had steak, rice and sauteed spinach.

We've got a chili supper at church tonight - the last time I looked at the sign up sheet, there were going to be three different kinds of chili.
