It's fast food but in a place where you find mostly tex-mex or pseudo-mex food it's a breath of fresh air. What am I talking about? Alberto's Mexican Restaurant (chain) It's open 24 hours a day (with drive thru) and I never cease to be surprised how they always get my order right even when half their staff can't even speak English. The food is divine. Full flavors made with fresh ingredients and cooked when you order. There is no pre-made flash frozen dishes here. In fact if you can read Spanish there will often be a side menu offering beef tounge or cheekmeat taco's. To make it even better they have a side/topping bar that you can go to to flavor whatever you order to your own taste. Everything from hot/spicy marinated onions and carrot slices, to fresh grilled jalapenos, to spicy guacamole, to multiple hot sauces and mole's. So if you are not looking for fine dinning and just want some authentic, fresh, Mexican food This is the place to go. Now, if you are in the St. George Metropolitan area in south-western Utah the Alberto's is on 705 N. Bluff but there is also an Alvarez in the East Ridge Mall 1680 E. Red Cliffs Dr. It broke off from the Alberto's when the two brothers running an Alberto's decided to have their own restaurants and one of them renamed his to seperate it or something.

The food sounds wonderful, Arrianna. It is good to hear that there is no frozen food at Alberto's. We have nothing like that over here. Taco Bell would be the only Mexican food fast food place I know of out this way, and the thought of dinner at Taco Bell....

Yeah, well when they have to run back to the border of Mexico to get away from the food it's a bad sign (Taco Bell). Poor choice of logo's guys. lol

AC - if you find yourself near a Baja Fresh, try it. It's better than Taco Bell by a long shot. It's still fast food, but they advertise themselves as using no can openers, no lard and no microwaves. There was one near where I worked in Phoenix and I got hooked.

Thanks, HC/Arrianna. If I ever get out that way (Syosset is a bit of a drive from here) I will give Baja Fresh a try.
