Gotta tell you guys about the restaurant we went to last night. My boss gets a bonus depending on how our company does financially, and apparently it was a good year. ;D She took all four of us and our SO's out to dinner last night at Flyte World Dining and Wine here in Nashville. It was FABULOUS!!! We were a bit concerned when we arrived, because it isn't in the best part of town, but the interior atmosphere and the food made up for it completely. Here's the link to their web site: www.flytenashville.com/. The dinner menu had other items on it than what you'll see on the web site. Hubby had a Dagwood salad (country ham, greens and a very thin toast crisp on top) to start, and elk for his main course. I tried the apple & butternut squash soup, with turbot (a type of white fish) for my entree. With my turbot came a dish of udon noodles, and I couldn't help but think of poor Chairman Kaga sitting there and saying "I hate udon". Presentation was very Iron Chef-esque. Others in our group had duck, lamb and osso buco. Anything on the menu that is named "______ Flyte" is a trio of items - it's a great way to try small portions of all the salads, for instance, or all the soups. They even have wine trios. And I almost forgot dessert. I tried the maple syrup pecan pie - it had what seemed like phyllo dough for a crust top and bottom. Someone else got the carrot cake, and others shared one of the two items. If you ever come to Nashville, save your pennies and go to Flyte - it's well worth it.
