Don't worry about posting, Arrianna. I hope you and the family get well soon.

Thanks guys. I don't mind posting though as long as your all willing to be forgiving of any fumbles. My oldest has stopped vomiting and we seem to be on the mend though so after a few more days we should be fine. Please don't pause on my account.

Good to hear you're on the mend there, A.

I was afraid that the Elderflower layer of the terrine wouldn't match the rest of the layers with it being sweet and everything else being savory so I pulled it out into it's own dish. Yes it is an afterthought, we'll see how it works.

BTW, I looked up the flavor of Elderflower and it was described as "rose and lychee" or "floral honeysuckle". Basically a light floral with a melony-citusy flavor. Just thought someone might like to know.

I'm really sick, this junk has settled in my chest. I'm also not sure what happened to AC. Any chance the commentators can take over for a few days?

To Ohta: Hattori: "No, basil isn't a 'New World' ingredient. I think the challenger wanted to try something a little different here." The pesto recipe is actually an old combination instead of a new one as Spinach was very popular in Italy in the 13th century and used in just about everything. In General: Still sick but I think I can manage. Musinex is some good stuff. lol

To the challenger: Is the pesto for a sauce for the fried dish or for the pizza? Why did you choose spinach compared to the basil?
To the Iron Chef: Are you going to sandwich the tomato, cheese maybe basil together? How are you preparing the figs? Maybe smoking them?
To both: Will you have enough time to finish all your dishes? Do you have plenty of time for another dish?

I'm sure AC will be back soon. It's just the weekend slowdown, as usual. The commentators will try to keep the conversation rolling.

It is for the pizza. I used spinach because basil is going to be used to top the pizza and I wanted to create a harmonious flavor between the sauce and the topping without overwhelming the judges with the flavor of the basil.
To both: Will you have enough time to finish all your dishes? Do you have plenty of time for another dish?
Yes. Even though I have added another dish the only additional work it created was the sauce which has already been made. There should be no problems.

Well, this RPG is slowing down a bit too much for my tastes. Any suggestions? The announcers' banter can't go on for much longer.

Actually, MA, we're not doing all that badly. 35 minute mark and both chefs well along the way.

I don't mind pausing for AC at all. I have been thinking though... with the association with "The Iron Chef Collection" site what if you started picking an episode they have available for viewing and start our own "Weekly Iron Chef Episode" site review and discussion? Who needs Food TV?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have no problem stopping for AC. I was just trying to think of other ways to keep the conversation moving- maybe someone in the Royal Box?
And Arrianna, I think that's a great idea. We'd just need to find someone willing to do the writing. It would be fun to have a weekly feature on the site.

Any guests for the royal box from the challenger's side or for the Iron Chef?
