I agree. There is nothing else worth watching on Food Network. (This thread reminded me to call food network. I am going to do so right now. *Fingers Crossed*)

You're right, there is nothing, at least IMHO that is worth watching on FN. Food Network aired the best show ever when it picked up ICJ. There is nothing they can ever put on the air now that will measure up to it. If I can't have ICJ then I don't want anything from FN.

I'd love to know whether Food Network suffered or not from moving ICJ to such a bad timeslot. I mean, if they really lost money from the move, don't you think they would have moved it back? Maybe it wasn't drawing in the ratings we fans thought it was- not that that's a good excuse to move it to such an insulting time.

Yeah, they're out for the money, and they don't care whose heart they break!

I left FN a message; I couldn't get through. Not to defend FN, but they probably took it off because of the lack of viewers, as MA said. I don't think it was anywhere near as popular as some of the other shows on FN. Still, if FN now knows of the fan-base that ICJ has...why won't they listen?

It's too bad that Fuji TV canceled the show to begin with. I think they should have kept it going. The Japanese apparently loved it.

I read somewhere that most TV shows with high success in Japan get canceled quickly. They want to keep the viewers, so they cancel it while it's huge. That would never happen here...

All I watch FN for is ICA - since I've seen all the ICJ eps multiple times, I don't bother recording/watching them.

I read somewhere that most TV shows with high success in Japan get canceled quickly. They want to keep the viewers, so they cancel it while it's huge. That would never happen here... That's true. They aren't so much cancelled, though, as they are formally ended by the writers/producers so the show doesn't get stale. It's "going out on a high note" taken to the extreme. Statistically, you really can't blame Food Network for doing to ICJ what they did. The show was losing money, so they threw it out. They only reason it's on so early in the morning is because we yelled at them so hard. If we hadn't have annoyed them so much, it wouldn't be on at all. Television shows get removed from the airwaves all the time, and it was just a matter of time before it happened to ICJ. The only reason this is really a shocker is because ICJ really put Food Network on the map. Without Iron Chef and Emeril, FN probably never would have taken off as it did. Otherwise, it's really not that surprising. That's not to say we won't miss it or fight for it, but that's they way television works.

Very true, MA, very true.........
I'm sure we can all think of other TV shows we loved that were cancelled.

So true, HC. But usually the actors go on to other show whereas the Iron Chefs have not. If it were not for Sakai visiting New Orleans this year, and his visit posted on Restaurant Stella, there'd be no sign of him. But what about the other guys, i.e., Kobe, Kaga, Michiba. We love them, too, and to be honest, don't ya miss them?

I miss my baby Kaga. I wonder what my baby is up to today. Maybe planning big things for his birthday coming up.
