The ICJ specials were so well done. They took an already dramatic show and amped up the theatrics to great effect. The emotional charge of those moments and the sense of ceremony in the proceedings really brought the idea of "Kitchen Stadium" to life. I agree completely that ICA failed to deliver on those types of episodes and lost some of the magic as a result.

I always figured their personas on the show were crafted for dramatic effect, but it's great to hear that they were beloved by those who were in their orbit. Thanks for sharing that, tetsujin070561!

I'm good with it, tuthead! This kind of thing falls under the preservation of Iron Chef content in my book.

Kandagawa cleverly branded himself into a "villain" for the original Iron Chefs, and in doing so Kandagawa almost became Chairman Kaga's dark reflection. Those kinds of dramatic turns are why ICJ remains so special to this day!

Alton and Mark are two of the better elements of ICA that I'm happy to see return. I think it's the overall presentation that I wanted to see overhauled with less of a sportscasting vibe and more of the traditional, almost mystical feel that the original had. The ICJ reboot from years ago did a nice job of that.
Like I said before, I'm happy to have Iron Chef back in any form and look forward to what this new version brings to the table.

Freewebs took it down long ago. I never actually shut it down, it just ceased to exist.
The most valuable content was always on the forum. The ICJ soundtrack was the best feature in the main page, and sadly the copyright holders have become much more protective of the music in recent years.

It’s slightly disappointing to see so much DNA from ICA being reused in lieu of ICJ, but the show does look nice and I’m glad to have Iron Chef back in any form.

Although it may be an unrealistic expectation since the ICA folks are involved, it would be nice if they went for an ICJ vibe with this. I prefer the ornate atmosphere of the original to the overdone, professional sports atmosphere of the later ICA years.

Maybe Fuji started caring again when the Filmrise deal came into play. As a reminder, I've created an episode list with the mega/YT links. Episode list with linksI still have everything from the site. I know a lot of people (me included) love seeing the raw and subtitled episodes, but do you think there would be interest in having the Food Network episodes uploaded again? And any interest in seeing again what I used to call the "Beyond Kitchen Stadium" videos? Yes and yes!
