www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32445784/ns/entertainment-reality_tv/Other hopefuls include entertainer Donny Osmond; singers Mya, Macy Gray and Aaron Carter; actors Melissa Joan Hart, Debi Mazar and Ashley Hamilton (son of George); models Joanna Krupa and Kathy Ireland; reality stars Kelly Osbourne and Mark Dacascos (“the Chairman” on Food Network’s “Iron Chef America”); mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell; professional snowboarder Louie Vito; Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin; former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin and the 62-year-old former congressman from Texas.Prediction: given the Chairman's martial-arts background, I don't expect him to be eliminated until the last half of the series.

Here's Chairman D's ABC.com bio: Mark Dacascos
PROFESSION: TV host, Kung Fu champion, actor
BACKGROUND: Can The Chairman cha-cha his way into the championships, or will he have to return to Kitchen Stadium empty handed?
Famously known as "The Chairman" and the host of Food Network's Iron Chef America , Dacascos is also a champion martial artist and actor. And it's no surprise that Mark is world renowned in Kung Fu—both of his parents are former national champions and teachers.
Mark was first discovered walking down the street in San Francisco's Chinatown. Before joining Iron Chef America in 2005, Mark has played not only martial artists, but a wide array of characters over the course of his film and television career. He has appeared in several feature films including the internationally acclaimed French epic, Brotherhood of the Wolf , the cult classic Only the Strong, Cradle 2 the Grave opposite Jet Li, Only the Brave, Nomad, and The Lost Medallion , to be released later this year.Attachments:

I saw that on the Facebook page today. I was like... Wow. And I watch this show like it's my religious programming.
On another note, why does ABC keep putting on ex-football players? Bring on someone else!

That's great news. And judging by the media frenzy that usually surrounds DWTS, I can only assume this will do great things for ICA and Mark's career.
Let's all wish him luck on his dancing adventure!

Here is MSN.com's recap of Mark's performance tonight:
Mark Dacascos Allez, cuisine! Yes, those two words are Mark's bread and butter. He's the "chairman" of "Iron Chef America," but he apparently dabbles in martial arts and can do the splits! He and Lacey Schwimmer danced a fluid tongue-in-cheek cha-cha-cha to "Kung Fu Fighting." Mark seemed incredibly comfortable onstage and truly kept up with his partner. This was one of the best first-night routines I've seen. Gilles Marini must have thought so, too; he gave Mark and Lacey a standing ovation. The judges were a little less impressed. Len was downright grouchy about the theatricality of the dance, though he liked Mark's waltz.
Score: 21/30 Relay rank: 2 Total: 29/40

He's sticking around for another week. He was comfortably safe after being revealed as such early in the men's half of the elimination. Ashley and Edyta were the first pair to go (along with Macy and Johnathan).

Hello! Just wanted to pop in here to invite all Mark Dacascos fans over to the DWTS forum. For those of you who are not famililar with the show, please drop by the abc/DWTS website. Mark's fans have two threads going strong on the forum: The Official Mark Dacascos thread The Official Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer thread Mark and Lacey need every single vote to stay in the competition. He is up against seasoned entertainers who have been dancing professionally for years. The team is working night and day learning three dances for the upcoming show on Monday. He and Lacey will doing the beautiful Paso Doble, a group Hustle, and a Knock-Out dance (if they end up in the final two). Please vote on Monday evening. You can vote via phone, online, or text. You're allowed to do all three methods. Several email addresses for voting are encouraged by the show, also. Again, please join us on the DWTS forum, look for Mark's threads, and vote on Monday night! We need to keep the Cha Cha Chairman in the competition.
