---post--- I say that if she doesn't submit her list of dishes by wednesday, that we scrap this RPG, or get someone else to play as Kobe to finish it out. This kind of thing is inexcusable. Stricter guidelines MUST be in place for this to be of any sucess.
I check this message board every day for the RPG, and post at least twice as often. I think that this kind of devotion is what is required for this to be of any sucess. ---end---

Dish Presentation
Fukui: The Challenger has created five dishes today.
First is Fried Olive Poppers: The challenger adapted a popular recipe from the states made from jalapeno for use with today's theme. The challenger also went out of his way to maintain the normal spicyness that associates with the hot chile in the seasoning. A cheese dipping sauce accompanies the dish.
Second is Himura's House Salad: The challenger admits that it doesn't break anything on its own, but giving the tasters a choice between truffle oil and basil oil based salad dressings should make up for it according to him.
Next is Olive Ravioli: Originally intended as tortellini, fears of time consumption forced the challenger to make this change, but regardless the pasta has olives inside and out. Green olives and red peppers embed the pasta, while black olives and mozzarella cheese make the filling. A olive oil, basil and sage pesto make the sauce.
Fourth is Olive Calzone: The stuffing for the calzone is made up of roast beef, spinach, black olives and mozzarella cheese. A sun dried tomato sauce accompanies the dish.
Last is Faux Martini: This is the vision that the challenger had when he made his ice cream. A marvelous visual presentation that makes this milkshake into a real martini. Normal accompants that associate with a martini is present with his closing dish.
Fukui: The Iron Chef has made only three dishes today.
First off is "Seasoned Green Olives" a light and delightful way to start the course.
That is followed by "Penne with Broccoli and Green Olives" Kobe's pasta dish for this battle. The green olives accentuate the flavor of the penne noodles.
The final dish of the evening is "Olive Tiramisu." This creative desert dish is unique in that the natural sweetness of olives is brought out.

Judy Wong - Challenger. Dish 1. Sanji-san, I love these fried olive poppers, just the fact that they are fried makes them great. The cheese dipping sauce is so mild and yummy.
Dish 2. The olive in the salad is actually just a guest. You needed more imagination to make them the star of this dish but it is refreshing. I did enjoy the truffel salad oil.
Dish 3.This was my favorite dish. I loved the taste of the ravioli pasta, and the filling was a mouth full of heaven. This was just wonderful, and beautifully plated.
Dish 4. The calzone was done beautifully but I think the mozzarella, since you used it in the ravioli, could have been replaced with something lighter, perhaps a tangy cheddar, which would have complimented both the roast beef and sundried tomatoes.
Dish 5. The olive martini milkshake was fantastic, so imaginative and fun, and it really tasted good. Again, I'm surprised at how good olives taste in a sweet dish. Very good.
Kobe. Dish 1. IC Kobe these olives are a wonderful appetizer and would go great at a party with some good beer. They are fresh and crispy, and have a great taste.
Dish 2. I must say I'm enjoying your penne pasta, no wonder you're known as the prince of pasta. The olives and broccoli match well together.
Dish 3. What an unusual flavor this dessert has. I couldn't imaging olives used in a dish that is otherwise sweet but, it's not unpleasant, quite the opposite. Who know olives could be sweetened. Yes, this is quite nice, too. All your dishes were beautifully plated.

Kateyama: (Challenger Himura's Dishes)
(Dish 1) These are very good for a snack or for a appetizer, this is amazing.
(Dish 2) The salad is so refreshing. You could've add just a little vinegar to the dressing. Other than that it's great.
(Dish 3) Yummy. I like any sort of ravioli. But this is one is the most amazing, I can easily taste the pesto sauce. Very nicely done.
(Dish 4) I would go to a restaurant to order this calzone. This is soo buttery and flaky. Inside is very cheesy, I love mozzarella on anything.
(Dish 5) My My, A fine desert martini. It's sooo good if it has some mint to it. It could've been more refreshing.
(Kobe's Dishes)
(Dish 1) The seasoning is very impressive with these olives. I really don't need to use fork for this. It's that good.
(Dish 2) Now I know why you are the "Prince of Pasta" you've a created a pasta dish using olives. It's pretty amazing.
(Dish 3) Very unusual but very delightful way to end a good meal. Pretty sweet when you use sugar in your olives.
Today I enjoy both of the chef's dishes. Especially the tiramisu. Strange but really impressive. I hope the judging will go smooth on this battle.

Kishi:
(Challenger's dishes)
(Dish 1) The only thing I can say is "Can I have some more?!" This was a great, fun way to start out the meal.
(Dish 2) The salad is well....boring...on it's own. But when the dressing is added, it is much more tasty and original. You should have added something new, something fresh to this salad, to make it more refreshing.
(Dish 3) This is excellent. An Italian classic with a radical twist on it. Absolutely delicious.
(Dish 4) The calzone is great. I really think it all blends wonderfully together. It was cooked perfectly as well.
(Dish 5) I never thought it would be this good! Honestly. This is awesome, just such a great way to end the meal. Very well done today, challenger Himura.
(IC Kobe's dishes)
(Dish 1) It is good to see something light and refreshing on today's menu. This was seasoned perfectly and I thought it was great. Thank you, IC Kobe, we needed something like this today.
(Dish 2) You really learn to appreciate the olives in this dish. It allows you to see what they truly bring to the table. The penne is cooked perfectly and goes along quite well with the olives and broccoli. Very tasty.
(Dish 3) Mmm! I am so surprised with this dish! I truly love this dish, IC Kobe. I have never had anything like it. Great job here today, IC Kobe.

Challenger’s dishes
Dish 1: Chai Lam: The olive poppers are nicely spiced and are very crispy, but the overall dish is light on the theme ingredient.
Dish 2:
Chai Lam: The salad is refreshing after the first dish. It seems though that the challenger is showcasing more of his dressings. The olives seem like they don’t need to be in this dish at all. The main ingredient could have been radishes.
Dish 3:
Chai Lam: This is the best dish so far. The olives are the main attraction. They are supported by an exquisite smooth pesto.
Dish 4:
Chai Lam: The calzones are crisp and the sauce lightens up the heavy filling. The olive oil used at the end nicely perfumes the whole dish.
Dish 5:
Chai Lam: This dish is extremely creative, trying to make olive icecream. But this also was not a dish I would like to try again. It needs more refinement to make it perfect like the olive ravioli. It was greasy and didn’t have the fine ice crystal like a good icecream. It was more like cold sweet sauce than like a soft icecream
Chai Lam: Overall the dishes were good. The challenger’s dishes showed some creativeness. The challenger started a little slow but ended up at highway speeds.
Iron Chef’s dishes
Dish 1:
Chai Lam: The seasoned olives were a nice choice. The slight tartness of the vinegar cleanses the palate and prepares the taster for the beginning of the meal. This dish is a common first course in Italy when I last visited.
Dish 2:
Chai Lam: Now I know why he is called the Prince of Pasta. The pasta has been prepared nicely and has a nice light sauce. The only problem with this dish would be that it is a little too salty. The anchovies and the olives are salty so that could have been the problem.
Dish 3;
Chai Lam: This dessert is a surprise. The espresso and the coffee liquor seem to suppress the flavor of the olives. To a degree this is a good thing, but the olives are lost in this dish. If the size and the amount of olives were increased, they could have been like candied fruit. This is very creative but weak on the execution.
Chai Lam: I have enjoyed the Iron Chef’s dishes but he lacked his usual strength considering the theme ingredient.

---post--- AC, I thought you were Kishi? ---end---
[Himura's reactions(out of order)]
[Wong- Himura dish 4] I wanted to get away from the processed cheeses that is normally associated with the rest of the ingredients in the stuffing, but also have a cheese that has a low melt point and still provide good flavor. Mozzerella was what I had on hand, so I used it.
[All- Himura Dish 3] Thank you.
[Kishi- Himura Dish 5] I didn't think that it would turn out this great myself. I almost considered not serving this at the table, or incorperating this with my last dish, but looking at it during the last minute of cooking, I thought that I would regret it if I threw it out. I'm glad I didn't.
[Chai Lam- Himura Dish 5] It wasn't intended to be a hard ice cream before it went into the blender. If I had left it to freeze for even a few minutes, the texture of the finished product would have been damaged to the point where it will not have gone down smooth.
---post--- I seriously thought that I had created a mess when I thought up dish 5, and thought it would taste nasty if someone actually made it. ---end---

Fukui: This one could be close- the verdict when we return.
JUDGMENT
*Kaga and the judges step into Kitchen Stadium*
Kaga: Today's challenger came into Kitchen Stadium today with more confidence than any challenger I've seen before. His dishes truly spoke of his wisdom in the field of cooking.
*smiles*
Now, the verdict.
Fukui: Challenger Himura, food critic, culinary author, and chef extraordinaire came to Kitchen Stadium to take on Iron Chef Italian Masahiko Kobe. The theme was olives, with both chefs turning up the heat. Who takes it?
Whose cuisine reigns supreme?
Kaga: Challenger Himura!
Fukui: He did it! The challenger managed to take down the Iron Chef! Incredible! Chef Himura was able to beat the man who triumphed over Michiba himself! Let's look at the scores:
Kateyama, 19 to 17 Iron Chef. Lam, 12 to 17 Challenger Himura. Wong 17 to 19 Challenger Himura. Kishi 19 to 16 Iron Chef.
Total: 69 to 67 Challenger Himura.
Fukui: Wow, that was a close one, but Challenger Himura pulls ahead in the end. Both chefs did great, but it's Sanji Himura who goes home with the "V" today!
