"Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are."
-Brillat-Savarin
*music plays*
Fukui: "Nearly a decade ago, a man's fantasy became reality in a form never seen before: Kitchen Stadium, a giant cooking arena. The motivation for spending his fortune to create Kitchen Stadium was to encounter new, original cuisines that could be called true, artistic creations."
*cut to Kaga yelling 'Allez Cuisine'*
"To realize his dream, he secretly started choosing the top chefs of various styles of cooking. And he named his chefs the Iron Chefs: The invincible chefs of culinary skills. Iron Chef Japanese Masaharu Morimoto. Iron Chef French is Hiroyuki Sakai. Iron Chef Chinese is Chen Kenichi. And Masahiko Kobe is Iron Chef Italian.
Kitchen Stadium is the arena where Iron Chefs await the challenges from master chefs from around the world. Both the Iron Chef and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, and creativity, they are to prepare artistic dishes never tasted before. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Stadium, where master chefs pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiration does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Chef fight back? The heat will be on!"
Kaga: If memory serves me right, the last battle in my Kitchen Stadium was Battle Olive. The challenger was Sanji Himura, a food critic and culinary author who believed that he could easily defeat one of my Iron Chefs. He set his sights on the man who recently beat Michiba himself, Iron Chef Italian Masahiko Kobe.
The battle was fierce, and the challenger displayed a level of confidence unseen in Kitchen Stadium before. Iron Chef Kobe completely only three dishes, while the challenger created five.
The judges were split two-two, but the winner...
*Cut to clip of Kaga saying "Challenger Himura!"*
...was the challenger. Even more amazing, Himura wasn't even surprised at his victory. He went on to say...
*cut to clip of Himura speaking to Ohta, "This is the most sloppiest battle that I have ever seen or been involved in. Why did I even bother showing up? This whole thing is just a waste of my time, and I could have reviewed a fine place just blocks from here rather than do this. Iron Chef, ha. What a joke. I'm out of here."*
Insulting my grand dream and Kitchen Stadium- we couldn't let him get away with that. My own food commentator Doctor Hattori had this to say about Himura's statement:
*Cut to clip of Hattori speaking: "It appears Himura has allowed his technical knowledge and a close win to go to his head. What true chef prepares his dishes 10 minutes before they need to be served and then serves them cold? 5 dishes winning with only 2 points difference to Kobe's 3! Not only could any of the Iron chefs defeat him under normal circumstances I believe that I, with my limited experience, would have little trouble as well. Having seen him compete I now believe that his reputation is highly overrated."*
The mild-mannered doctor stepped forward. In defense of my Kitchen Stadium and to defend his honor, Doctor Hattori challenged Sanji Himura to a revenge match. It will be an overtime battle, picking up exactly where my chefs left off in Battle Olive- with Doctor Hattori himself filling the shoes of the Iron Chef.
So now, Doctor Hattori- use all your skills to put our overconfident challenger in his place, and defend Kitchen Stadium with everything you've got!
*Kaga steps into Kitchen Stadium. The camera pans around a large column, showing Kaga stepping up to center stage. The Chairman looks around at the many features and ingredients in Kitchen Stadium, and his eyes land on a yellow bell pepper in front of him. He picks it up, and takes a bite. Suddenly, a large smile spreads across his face, as the camera pulls back, revealing the once-empty Kitchen Stadium now full of Gourmet Academy chefs. Flames burst onto the screen, and in both Japanese and English characters appears the words: Iron Chef. The camera pans once more around the Kitchen Stadium, and the events are now ready to begin*
Kaga: Well. This is an interesting turn of events. Our own Doctor Hattori battling Challenger Himura. An overtime battle for revenge... this certainly doesn't fit with the theme of my Kitchen Stadium. *Eyes light up* But imagine the culinary creations that will come from the battle.
Very well, a revenge match it shall be. Doctor Hattori versus Sanji Himura- right here, right now. An overtime match that will decide the ultimate winner tonight. Luckily, we have a theme here just in case there was an overtime match. Looks like we'll get to use it after all.
Tonight's theme served as the inspiration for the overtime theme. The simple shape of the olives used in tonight's battle gave me the idea for a possible follow-up.
We unveil the ingredient!
*Rising up on the ingredient stand, veiled in smoke is...*
Kaga: GRAPES!

OVERTIME BATTLE[/glow]
Fukui: Whoa- an overtime battle for the ages! Our own Doctor Hattori defending the honor of Kitchen Stadium and taking on the last battle's not-so-humble winner, Sanji Himura! The theme, inspired by the shape of the olives used in the previous match, is grapes! The battle is set, so let's get it on!
Kaga: Allez Cuisine!
*The Gong of Fate sounds, the battle begins*
Rules:
The chefs have thirty minutes to create dishes that best articulate the theme ingredient: Grapes.
