Okada: If you guys over there are trying. Don't forget about the royal box. Me and Sakai-san would like to try also.
*Sakai chuckles at the idea of trying some of the sweets from both chefs*

*Barber checks on the soup, giving it a stir, taking a teaspoonful and tasting it. He hustles to the pantry, comes back with a jar of Madras curry powder, and adds about a half-teaspoonful to the soup. He takes another teaspoon and tastes it again.*
Barber: "Perfect. A touch of curry can really bring flavors together. Ota-san -- would you like a taste?"

*Meanwhile, Isao has got the blender going with eggs, garlic cloves, and some Dijon mustard. He slowly drizzles in a stream of sunflower oil through the feed tube, turning the mixture into an emulsion.*

Ota - Cooo-san, I asked Chef Barber about his ice cream desert decorations. He told me that it despicts a saint in prayer, the pineapple represents a halo around the head, and the banana slices represent the hands. Quite unique, wouldn't you say? Well you started something now, Cooo-san. I must go to the Royal Box with Ishinabe's desert and give those guys a taste. Here I come!

Fukui: Sorry, big guy! Just wanted a taste, didn't mean to start any trouble! Poor Ohta. That spoonful was delicious, though. We have about 11 minutes left on the clock, so our chefs had better start wrapping things up. We're hitting the final ten minutes of battle, but anything can happen! Looks like things are starting to heat up on both sides of Kitchen Stadium. The competition is getting fierce, and everything has got to be created and plated before the end of the match.
10 MINUTES TO GO!
Fukui: And there it is, the ten minute call! It's getting hot in the kitchen, but no one dares get out now- this battle is reaching a boiling point, and it's just too exciting to blink!

*Barber dons oven mitts and takes the Crueset pot out of the oven.*
Barber: "We'll need to finish this on the stove."
*He sets the pot on medium-high heat, then whisks some cornstarch and water together in a measuring cup. With the aid of a wooden spoon, he stirs the thickener into the stew.*

Sous Chef Ni: Yes, sir!
*Ishinbae pulling the gratin out of the oven*
Ishinabe: MM. That looks wonderful.
*Ishinabe plating the Pumpkin and Potato Gratin on a deep, white, circular bowl, and topping it with fresh parsley*

Sous Chef Ni: Yes, sir.
*Ishinabe plating the lamb on top of the arugala, and topping it with some balsamic dressing and some pecans*
Sous Chef Ni: The gnocchi are out, sir!

*Ishinabe pouring the bright-yellow colored curry sauce over the gnocchi and topping it with black truffle*
Ishinabe: Wonderful!
*Ishinabe grabbing the rum, and filling up (number of judges) with the rum, to be served with the dessert platter*
Ishinabe *tasting the rum*: Mm-mm. Back to work!

Barber: "All right, Isao-san. Here's what I want you to do for the plating of the latkes." "Two latkes per plate, and you'll put on a dollop of the aioli here, and we'll use this ketchup in a swirl pattern here." *As Isao begins to plate the latkes, Barber hustles to the serveware pantry and returns with five geta platters, which he puts on the counter.* Barber: "I think we're about ready for the stew."

Barber: "Keiichi, here's what we're going to do for the stew plating: "The bread we cored out to make the bread bowl, we set on the plate so that the tasters can have something to sop the gravy with. Got it?" Keiichi: "Hai, Barber-sensei. We're plating the soup last, then?" Barber: "That's right, we'll do that at the five-minute mark."
