Ota - Esqee-san, am here with Masterchef Sakai. You certainly look dapper, Sakai-san. Is that a silk suit you have on, perhaps from Italy? Sakai (a cute laugh accompanies his beautiful smile) ah, yes, I believe it is from Italy. Ota- how do you think this battle pumpkin is going so far? Sakai-san. It is quite interesting. The dishes are coming together quite well, on both sides. I think Chef Barber is fun in that he is so inovative, collecting the three Iron Chefs' leftovers. Ota - Sakai-san, do you think you would ever like to be an Iron Chef in kitchen stadium? Sakai-san - No. I think this is way too nerve-racking for the chefs. ;D

*Barber has extracted the pumpkin ice cream from the machine. He brings it to the counter where the martini glasses are, rushes to the pantry and comes back with a bag of chocolate chips, two bananas and a pineapple.* *In the meantime, Keiichi is deep-frying the latkes in the wok and draining them on a rack lined with paper towels.*

Barber: "Isao-san, when you're done with the salad, go and rinse out the blender -- we're going to be making an aioli!"
Isao: "Hai, Barber-sensei. I'm almost done!"

Ota - Sqeee-san. I'm with the Iron Chef. Ishinabe-san, how many dishes are you planning to serve the tasting panel today? How do you feel about the progress you're making? What do you think about facing a "peasant chef" who has used your leftovers for some of his dishes? Ishinabe: Seven dishes today, including a dessert platter. I feel very good about this battle, so far, the only thing is the time...but we'll make it. As for chef Barber, he should use his own creations, not mine, but that's up to the tasting panel. Ishinabe: OK, OK, the lamb is out of the oven! Look at that color...just perfect. Plate it and cover it, chef Iti. Sous Chef Iti: Yes, sir! *Sous chef Iti plating the lamb on a bed of greens* Ishinabe: Good. Now, chef Ni, get the sugar and pumpkin water off the stove, it's good now. Hurry, it will harden soon! Sous Chef Ni: I'm on it, Ishinbae-san! *Ishinabe grabbing a box of graham cracker crumbs, and an elongated rectangle plate* Ishinabe: When you are done making the sugar bowl, chef Ni, you will lay it here, in the graham cracker crumbs. You see? Sous Chef Ni: Yes, sir, I see. Also, sir, the Pumpkin Pockets are ready. Ishinabe: Good, good. *Ishinabe pulling a tray of Pumpkin Pockets out of the oven, and placing five of them in various fall colored dinner napkins, and then in a straw basket.* Ishinabe: Each taster will get five small pockets. *Ties a piece of wood straw around each taster's basket* Ishinabe: Perfect. Now, we must pull the ice cream out of the ice cream maker, and get it to the freezer! *Ishinabe pulling ice cream out of the maker, then placing it in a large metal bowl* Sous Chef Ni: Ishinabe-san, I am done with the sugar bowls! *Ishinabe inspecting the ice cream bowls made entirely out of sugar* Ishinabe: They look very good. Well done. Now, chef Ni, get to assembling the gratin...and hurry! Sous Chef Ni: Yes, sir! Sous Chef Iti: Ishinabe-san! The Pumpkin Puffs are ready, sir! Ishinabe: Good, good. They look wonderful. *Ishinabe dipping one side of each Pumpkin Puff in either dark or milk chocolate* Ishinabe: Perfect. I'll place these on the dessert platter. *Placing the Pumpkin Puffs in the middle of where the Pumpkin Ice Cream and the Spiced Pumpkin Rum Mousse will go* Ishinabe: OK. The work load is allot lighter now, but there is still food to finish! I need that Pumpkin Gratin in the oven, now! Sous Chef Ni: I'm trying to go fast! Ishinabe: It's got to go in in five minutes, otherwise we're not going to do this. Hurry.

Ishida: Doc Hattori-san! Did you see that! Sugar bowls and puffs and ice cream and mousse and the pecan nougat! Wow! How would all that taste together!

Ota - Ishida-san, I'm with you, wondering what it's going to taste like. I have a huge sweet tooth! Ishinabe, be sure to save some for for the staff (me), lol.

*Keiichi, having finished frying the latkes, moves the rack with the latkes to the salamander, set on low to keep them warm and crisp. He hustles to the serveware pantry and returns with 5 rectangular plates to show Barber, who is busy cutting up the pineapple.*
Barber: "Those will do just fine. We'll start plating that at the 50-minute mark."

Ishinabe: Ohta! This is for you. *Hands Ohta a cup of ice cream* There will be enough, guys, don't worry.
Ishinabe: Ay, Chef Ni! Is the gratin in the oven yet?
Sous Chef Ni: Yes. I just placed it in.
Ishinabe: Whew. You had me worried there. OK. We're almost done.

Ota - Thank you Ishinabe. This is really, well, I don't want to influence the panel so I won't say anything (whispers to the IC (really yummy)).

Fukui: Ishinabe-san, you're bribing the wrong person! Ohta's not on the panel! *laughs* Hey, big guy, you wouldn't mind sharing some of that, would you?
15 MINUTES TO GO!
Fukui: Whoa, hold that thought- fifteen minutes to go in Battle Pumpkin! One quarter of the battle remains! Man alive, this one moved quickly!

*Barber puts a scoop of ice cream into a martini glass.* Barber: "Now Keiichi, since you're done with the latkes for now, let me show you what I want done here." *He arranges a shaped pineapple ring, three chocolate chips and two banana slices thusly:* Barber: "Once you're done with that, cover the whole thing with plastic wrap and put them in the freezer. We'll take them out at the five-minute mark."

Ishida:Well I will be getting some later so I guess I can wait to try Ishinabe's cooking. I have waited this long and now only 15 minutes! (looks at Chef Barbers ice cream) Is that supposed to be a face?

Fukui: You haven't double-dipped this spoon, have you Ohta? *looks at the spoonful suspiciously, then gulps it down* Man alive, that's fantastic! *takes Ishida-san's spoon* Hey, you get more later, and I haven't eaten all day! Please, Ishida-san?!
