I hope they don't try to turn the vehicle into a full-fledged game show.

Well, I view this as a good thing...though I have to force my optimism a little. This means that Iron Chef is still "alive" in some form, and maybe (just maybe, in some fantasy land) we may see some re-runs of the original...

I hope they don't try to turn the vehicle into a full-fledged game show. My thought is that it probably won't be. How this is going to work in an hour-long format? I'll await tapings before I start critiquing.

Very interesting! I'm glad that "Iron Chef" will live on in the U.S. in some form. Let's hope that they stay within the spirit of the show that we know and love!

I imagine it will somewhat resemble "The Next Iron Chef" but be more formalized in structure, perhaps? In any event, it will be nice to have something IC back on the telly. Subbing in Alton Brown for Mark Dacascos as host is surely a huge plus! I hope they utilize interesting ingredients and we see chefs representing differing types of cuisines. Wonder if we will ever see a series about Molecular Gastronomy (or Mixology)?
