I've no doubt it will be just as pathetic as Iron Chef Gauntlet. Will the battles in this new series have predetermined winners and losers like ICG? Maybe they'll have something new and truly innovative, such as requiring the chefs to prepare their meals while riding unicycles around KS?

I have to (sadly) agree with this statement. Gauntlet was lackluster, and based on what I saw, wasn't at all appealing. I'm hoping that Showdown is better, but who knows? Is Food Network putting Iron Chef spinoffs on for the sake of having them? If they want the show on, they should just bring IC: America back. Or air the original again.

Let's hope this production has a bit more integrity and sincerity than Iron Chef Gauntlet seemed to have.
