Welcome Nimbus! Death Note Trailer on YouTubeWikipedia has a really good review of both the manga and the Movies (yes plural) with links to official sites etc at the bottom of the page. It's not my usual sort of movie but I am very tempted. You can be sure if someone subtitles it I'm getting it!

Very interesting. Thanks, Arrianna! I found it weird that the song "Dani California" would be the theme song.... On the Wikipedia page, it says there will be an American remake of the movie. It's the next best thing, if we don't get it subtitled. (No Kaga though... )

If Kaga-san is not in the American remake of the movie, I'm not going to get it. Lets hope there are English sub-titles in the one Kaga is in.

Chairman Kaga in a film directed by Shusuke Kaneko, who made the 1990s Gamera trilogy. I can't wait!

I wonder even if they release the DVD with English subtitles, if it would only be a Region 3 release (meaning it would only work on Asian DVD players and devices). Do you think they would release it state side? Well, maybe if they are remaking it for U.S. audiences they will.

MA, you can change your DVD player to play all regions. I did mine. Was a time I thought I was getting blank dvds when in reality the problem was my player. Someone told me how to fix it so it would play all regions. Is cool now.

Yeah, but it's a lot easier on some machines than on others. It's easier to buy a multi-region player (which I've been tempted to do for a long time).

MA is your dvd a portable? I have several dvd players, and one of them is portable. Why? Do portable players handle all regions?

Yes, portables can be programed to handle all regions for your dvd's. Check your instructions booklet. I changed mine, I have a portable Polaroid dvd player. I'm looking for the instruction booklet but can't seem to remember where it is. Just saw it a week ago. I'll keep looking. There is also a web site that has that info but the address is in my old pc. I can't remember how I did it, changed it that is.
