Seeing as he spent so much time watching the Iron Chefs cooking, how good of a chef is he himself?

Methinks he is better at eating than cooking.

In the book he says over the course of the show he "consumed a total of 2,389,995 calories and was forced to undertake a strict regimen of physical exercises." I bet he was cuddly.

With the dishes our IC's prepare, I wouldn't doubt it!

He didn't appear to gain wait on the show, though. I guess that's a true statement, though. I love the offical Iron Chef book, don't you?

No, I didn't. Even if I did, I wouldn't remember it, none of us knew what "Iron Chef" was at the time.

when was ICJ translated into english? Iron Chef first aired on Food Network in 1999, but it wasn't big until the New York battle, I think that was in 2000.

I think ICJ aired in San Francisco for a while prior to 2000. It may not have been in English. In the book on page 19, all it says is that it was nominated for the American Emmy Awards in December, 1994.
