Script for Iron Kids: The King or Queen of Iron Kids Tournament--Prologue
Part One
Justin: Five years ago, a girl's fantasy became a reality in a form never seen before: Kitchen clubhouse, a giant cooking meetinghall. The motivation to create Kitchen Clubhouse was to encounter new, original cuisines that could be called true, artistic creations.
Anna: Allez Cuisine!
Justin: To realize her dream, she secretly started chooing the top kids of various styles of cooking. And she named her kids the Iron Kids: The invincible kids of culinary skills. Iron Kid Japanese is Meredith Morimoto. Iron Kid French is Brandon Sakai. Iron Kid Chinese is Julie Kenichi. And Ronnie Kobe is Iron Kid Italian. Kitchen Clubhouse is the meetinghall where Iron Kids await the challenges from master kids from around the United States and Canada. Both the Iron Kid and challenger have one hour to tackle the theme ingredient of the day. Using all their senses, skill, and creativity, they are to prepare artistic creations never tasted before. And if ever the challenger wins over the Iron Kid, he or she will gain the people's ovation and fame forever. Every battle, reputations are on the line in Kitchen Clubhouse, where master kids pit their artistic creations against each other. What inspiraton does today's challenger bring? And how will the Iron Kid fight back? The heat will be on!
Anna: If my memory serves me right, challengers have cancelled future battles against the kids who have grown up in this Kitchen Clubhouse and I am starting to worry about the future of my culinary tasting career. So after an unprecidented 293 battles and seven Iron Kids, the time has come for me to make a decision. I am closing the one home away from home I have had since 1993. Kitchen Clubhouse will be no more. I have decided, though, to have a tournament to determine the best Iron Kid of the four current ones in the bunch. I am calling it the "King or Queen of Iron Kids Tournament". What will the reaction from the Iron Kids be?
*cut to Kitchen Clubhouse*
*Meredith is on couch; Brandon walks in scene*
Brandon: Meredith! I have to tell you something wicked important!
Meredith: Go ahead. But if this is something wicked stupid, I'll tell you otherwise...
Brandon: Anna's closing down Kitchen Clubhouse!
Meredith: *puts magazine down* What? Are you kidding me?
Brandon: Uh, no I'm not. And to top it all off, I hear she's got something special planned for the closure date!
Meredith: Wow...
Anna: *screaming off scene* Meredith! Brandon! Get in the meeting room this instant! I have some important news for you!
Brandon: This must be the "something special".
Meredith: *gets off couch* Let's go hear our fate.
*both go into meeting room*
*Julie and Ronnie are inside; on opposite sides of table*
Julie: Hey there! I hear Anna's got something she'd like to say to us?
Meredith: And how would you know it before we did? *alternates pointing between Brandon and herself*
Ronnie: I was at Julie's house with her and Anna called us. ((NOTE: Rented house.)) So then...I wonder what this news is going to be?
Anna: I'll tell you if you guys shut up. *quad quiets down* Thank you. So anyway, you all know that I am closing down Kitchen Clubhouse on the 24th of September. But this closure won't end on a low note. It'll end with a major tournament. I'd like to call it the "King or Queen of Iron Kids Tournament".
Julie: That means all four of us are battling? Now, come on!
Anna: Yes, that's exactly what it means. Now then...the first round matchups are going to be a doozy for the tasters I've got lined up to judge. In the first battle, it's going to be Julie versus Ronnie. That means Brandon and Meredith will lock horns in the second battle.
Brandon: That...just sucks. Period.
Julie: I know. Tell me about it. Friends for life in one match and lover birds in the other one. This is going to be quite the tournament. *stands up* I'm going to go back home if this is the only thing you've had on your chest. *begins to leave room; stands by doorway*
Anna: Permission to go home granted. The tournament was the only thing on my mind and I wanted to get it out so bad. Going somewhere that's not this room is required with the rest of you, by the way. *leaves room*
*Julie leaves room*
Meredith: Brandon, promise me that our match doesn't end up a crapshoot. *leaves room; starts crying off scene*
Ronnie: This means I'm going to head out as well. Meredith'll need a shoulder to cry on. Carry on, circle mold boy. *leaves room*
*Brandon remains in meeting room; heads to doorway and stands in it*
Emily VO: So the matches have been determined. Julie versus Ronnie and Brandon versus Meredith. But now with Julie at home, she won't keep the battle a secret in her conversation with Madison.
Madison: Okay...
Julie: *after mentioning the battle* So, you're not upset about your best friend battling your boyfriend?
Madison: Nah! I haven't decided which box I'm going to be in yet. If he asks me, I'll probably accept...
Julie: Wait, hold on. You're not going to be in his box. If you decide to be in his box, consider this friendship over.
Madison: If I tell him that I'll be in his box but I change my mind inbetween, will you accept the fact?
Julie: I might. I might not.
Madison: *makes buzzing sound* Wrong answer! If you don't want me around for this batttle, once again you can kiss this friendship goodbye. Say good night, Gracie. You know, that sort of thing. *leaves house*
Julie: What did I say? Madison...turn her back on me? It can't be possible. No way!
