The full moon was too bright last night. It was hard to see much, but I did get to see a few!

Wow, what a show. I saw a bunch of them. It was great. I went to the solarium about 10:30 and saw all these bright streaks going across the sky, and as it got darker out they got brighter. Even had two that seemed really close. AWESOME. I stayed out there until about 12:30 when suddenly I heard a scratching noise outside so I looked out the sliding door and, once my eyes focused to the dark, I saw something rolling around in the big stainless bowl I have out on the lawn for transporting soil. SUDDENLY THERE WAS A LOUD CRASH! Metal on metal followed by yipes from what sounded like little pups in trouble, HELP, HELP, HELP! By now I could see quite well and saw that there was a little coyote in the big bowl with my large metal torch lamp on top of it. Apparently the pup knocked the lamp over while playing in the bowl. It couldn't get out from under the lamp and it was squealing like crazy, its sibling was also squealing. I wasn't about to go out and help it with mama standing there. Well, she finally got the pup out and they all ran off. I went to bed after that.

I like that the coyotes come to my yard, there is always a dead animal of some kind here and they eat the bodies. I get dead squirrels, bunnies, quail, dove, lots of other birds and the coyotes are vaccuum cleaners. But, rarely do you hear them. Once in a while they will howl at the moon.

That must be an awesome site, especially to those of us that don't see anything like that in our areas.

Unlucky for me, I didn't get to see it. 'Cause I'm in Kenosha.

You'd have been able to see it, misstee, it could be seen over all the northern hemisphere. It was an awesome show but was up way too high, higher than most, or should I say farther away than most of the shows. But beautiful!

Time for another meteorite show tonight and tomorrow night. Usually the best time to see it is from midnight to just before dawn. This one is the Leonid show. It emenates from the constellation Leo, if you know where that is. If not, just look to the right of the big dipper and you will see it. There will be explosions all over the place going in different directions. This is one of the really cool ones. Last time it happend was 1998 and I saw some of the most awesome lights ever. Looked like a bunch of large flares going across the sky.

I plan to take a nap later this afternoon so I can watch it. I need to take down the drapes on the ceiling windows in the solarium first.
